Welp.. because you could never host just one site at the $1.25 gig price.. if you can prove you can, I would beat it. But, I don't think you could find it. It would cost me $10,000 upfront to start this. Not like I could just get a server and start offering that rate.

Part of the reason I am thinking about this is because OF pro hosters! They have gone to hell and I can't stand using them anymore.. my sites are down all the F**KING time.. Im a bit sick of it..

Problem is its hard to do $2 a gig hosting and make some decent $$ from it and in life you usually get what you pay for!

2 months ago prohosters was the place to be now the speed is not that good 2 months from now there will be another great deal and it will die after awile also http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/frown.gif And so on in the end paying a little more is better in the long run then allways moving hosts especially for cj sites if its for tgp crap use whatever but downtime for cj is death!

What I can not understand about real bandwidth price is that if you say that $1.75/gig is too cheap HTF can those European porn servers pull so much traffic without any charges (spray.se, terra.es, ya.com...). They surely must have their bandwidth much cheaper from somewhere. Usually offered price from pay-hosting should be the result of re-re-re-selling...

Maybe the task is find who is not reseller of reseller.

Sites should be on fast and reliable hosting
otherwise you will be little jerk all the time.
Just for example:
Spend another 100$(for hosting) per month and dont loose 200$(from sponsors) per same month for downtimes and slow hours.

nic, to get it cheaper, you'd probably have to buy a LOT of bandwidth. they're not going to give you the same price for a 1 mbps line as they will for a 10 mbps line.

i have a host that is cheap and good - but only for dedicated. for virtual, they're average priced.

Well, NIC sorry you think I believe I know it all. That's not what I was implying. I found a host that seemed like a good deal. So, what did I do? I found who their upstream is. Yes I did copy paste all that info. You think im going to type all that shit out? hehe.. That info was from the upstream provider, that is what they offer. If you have $10,000 then go buy two servers and a burstable connection and you can be my competition! Not sure why your acting like, well… a dick. I am just getting some input here. No one is forcing you to sign up. Do you host a website? Where? How much do you pay? If you can get a better deal then be my guest. I'm not looking to become a millionaire from this; I would just like to offer good hosting at a decent price. If I can offer it for less then anyone, well then people will signup, isn't that the point? I am also thinking of offering a hosting plan geared toward galleries. $55.00 month 30 gig and $1.50 per gig over. Just some thoughts, nothing is concrete.

I will host some galleries with you for that price... I pay more for my TGP's and am very leery of moving them since they are up 100% of the time and fast...


No big risk on galleries.... I'd be willing to run some if you get this going... The profit margin gets smaller and smaller out here, so saving a $1 a gig could make a difference when you are talking 700 gigs a month.

Their support sucks even worse. At one time you could get a response within minutes... now you never get a reply.

With the down time, no support and slow servers I keep wondering how they stay in business. I keep waiting thinking it will get better.... but who knows.

Well....if you are going to sell that cheap..you wont be able to afford to give your customers very top priority, it all looks good on paper to you that you will get alot of customers, but undercutting yourself can be the kiss of death,ive been there and done that.
Better to price a little bit higher and give cushion for emergencies...they always popup ;-) look at your comments about prohosters
