It must be one of your trades who is working on a plan because i think thats what happened to me but after i deleted about 5 suspects i managed to stop it. To bad i have to kill good trades just for one asshole who makes others look bad. :(

I do not understand what he should gain by doing this, but as a matter of fact I think the same has happened to me. One of my trades told me that I had some weird traffic, the referer was mine but it did not have the right format or something like that. He did not want to go into details as he was not sure if I was the cheater or if someone just made me look that way. Fact is that that I have lost allot of traffic in the last couple of weeks as a result of that hitbooting jerk, but it seems to be over now. Presuming that the hitbooter was the same we should all compare trading lists to see if we got some of the same traders, what do you say?

Very cool! Every thread about Hitbots will make new cheaters in industry, because most newbies are seeking to make quick-money and you show them how to!

Atleast don't use this word (a SE word you know fuckers!), instead of this use Cheater or something similar!

I doubt hitbotters can make a quick buck, but they are fucking idiots, they could make good money for a much longer time if they just did this right, instead they fuck over the whole biz...

This is why there should be some kind of union to img src these fucks, ya img src is illegal but hitbotting should be aswell, if many webmasters would get togheter and img src confirmed cheaters when they are found to be actively cheating, than trust me they would stop!

You guys are letting yourselves be walked all over by these little fucks!

I don't know why you guys bother trying to avoid the hit bots, last week I posted what I thought were some good ideas to get rid of hitbots and fool them into clicking wrong links act but the tread got flamed because people said hit hitbotters could also use the same information.
.
I guess some people already know how to avoid them but why should they tell you they have more to gain by keeping it to themselves.
.
The real fault lies in the scripts, they have piss poor security and that's what the bots are exploiting so your best bet as a group would be to put pressure on the script writers to fix the loopholes and add some security.

So how do you make hidden link? Just the link with the same color as background?

well I guess some methods will fool some bots and not others, it would also help to know if they interface with system files on your server or just scan html pages looking for links.

If they scan html looking for links just make sure that the first bunch of links they find are fake and not clickable by people (don't forget its looking at the text of the html and not a web page as we see them). so they could easily find links that were inside zero sized frames for example.
.
At a guess many of them will locate links using this type of method
---------------------------------
open "index.html" for input as #1
do
x=0
input #1,a$
x=instr(a$,"<a href")
loop until eof(1) or x <> 0
---------------------------
The bot would then exit the first loop and search for "</a.>" to give it a complete hyperlink.
so you could probably crash a lot of them by making open ended links without the "</a>" at the end
.
<a href = a complete load of crap
.
and the bot would continue all the way down the page until it found the "end" of the first real link and try to execute all the shit code in between as a link.
.
Anyway all of this is complete bollocks and none of this would stop what you've been talking about at the start of this thread.
.
The most blindingly obvious solution is to get a script with security that a hit bot can't fake I've never even seen any signups asking for passwords and yet these scripts are trading hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of traffic
Does that make sense to any of you?
