setup a FTP server on your computer and remember your IP address.

The best remote program is NETOP from danware

Hehe, yeah - NetOp ROCKS!

100% like sitting in front of your pc.

I use ServU FTP, it works very well (if you have a static IP)

Remember if you have cable.. Im sure its against the TOS to have any ftp service running.. They scan for open ports.. just beware of that.

This is Netop in action, you get the remote
pc's screen and it is just like being there.

I had all my pc friends install it so when they
call (Like they do all the time) to have me
fix something on thier puter, I can just pop in and fix it
quickly, 100 times faster than trying to
explain to them what they need to do over
the phone http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Jimbo is talking about vnc http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/

Its free and super cool.. I use it at work. I like how can connect to a Linux box running X from a windows box. Very small d/l as well.

Well if your friend has Windows 9x and using NetBios and no firewall. If you knew your friends IP address you could attach yourself to his drives & printers with Esential NetTools (http://www.tamos.com/download.htm)

I used it to test my colleges network at one point, nearly the whole campus was wide open! I would send all kinds of wacky print jobs all over campus. I even "handed in" an english paper this way once. My instructor thought it was cool at first, but when I showed him that his entire system, including his spreadsheets that he kept the grades were easy to get too he decided to take steps in protecting his computer.

NetOp is FUN! I use it to "help" my friends with thier computer problems. My former boss at the college I attended showed me it.
He uses it to bust people looking at porn or playing games in the computer lab.
