What does everyone use as an html editor? I use notepad, but it's a pain in the ass to make circle jerk sites with I noticed.

When i started coding html pages, i too used notepad. This was because all the HTML books i had bought told me to use notepad http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif
The speed that pages can be created with a wysiwyg editor is reason in itself to use, let alone all the neat features that i have grown to use with Dreamweaver. (of course, i have a fully paid up version of DW http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif)
However, i would thoroughly recommend people to learn HTML via notepad, you look like an ass if you claim to be a webpage designer, but cannot explain the source http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/wink.gif
Dreamweaver has always been good for me.

I have used pagemill, frontpage and dreamweaver. For me, the best one is dreamweaver. I know HTML, but using notepad is really slow, specially when you don't have enough time to work on a site. I'd rather use an HTML editor and then clean up the source, instead of coding the whole html in notepad.

Dreamweaver III is pretty much the cream of the crop in my opinion too. I don't touch anything else other than UltraEdit for all my webwork.

DREAMWEAVER?!??!!?
What are you insane? That POS is the biggest waste of money since the new Starwars movie...Mesa, Jar Jar no understanda disa dreamweaver. html gonnna die?
Have you seen the redundant code produced by that piece of shit? example, and ALWAYS used by Dreamweaver
<TD><DIV align=center>I love dreamweaver logic</div></TD>
Ok that is nothing big but have that 500 times in a oage and those stupid Div tags will hog some space..I admit DIV tags are usefull but very rarely needed.
<TD align="center">Try Adobe GoLive</TD>
another great feature with dreamweaver is the cleanup feature..Supposed to go and remove redundant code? HAHA, that is the biggest fucking joke...I was fixing up a site for a friend because he just couldn't understand why his 30k a day site(made completely with dreamweaver I might add) was taking up well over 100 GB a month..Apart from compressing the images(Thanks Adobe Photoshop 5.5) I took the code apart and ran it through the 'clean up' feature in dreamweaver to test it out...
No exaggeration this is the exact code I found in it.
<font color="ffffff"><font color="ffffff"><font color="ffffff"><font color="ffffff"><font color="ffffff">
(REPEATED 22 more times, but I think you get the picture)
and then 27 closing font tags surrounding one line of text...NOW, you would think that ANY editor programmed by an ape would be able to pick some of that out as redundant code! Dreamweaver logic says: ALL font tags are necessary(obviously this is the same program that created them in the first place) and we leave them in...
or another piece of Amazing Dreamweaver logic: LETS bold face an IMAGE with a border of 0!!!What the HELL is that? or putting font tags around an img!! Hell there was 15 more examples like this..Bottom line, dreamweaver is easy to use, but if you have any concerns over your BW bill or loading times, or you know ANYTHING about html, it is not worth a cheap whore on dirty sunday...
So far I have found GoLive 5 to be outstanding, IF you have a decently fast computer...GoLive 4 was a bit sketchy but V.5 seems to have fixed some of the shit bugs...that and CuteHTML!!
Theres my 2 cents..errr, 84 dollars and 35 cents, LONG LIVE WYSIWYG!!!

I use Homsite. The only reason I use it and not notpad is because it is a lot more organized and makes it easy to work on more then one page at a time. I suggest to everybody that when making a CJ site DO NOT use any sort of auto code generators. They SUCK ASS !!! Like Unconnected said they make a lot of redundant code and slow down the loading of your site.
