View Full Version : Scorpion2 tips
I am about to change script from CJ Pro to Scorpion 2. Is there something special I should think of, and do you have any general good CJ tips to give away?

I agree with Shane -- Krister always answers questions very quickly, no matter how lost I've managed to get myself :-)
Ok, Maybe a stupid question but how do most sites trade, and what do you guys recommend?
Raw? Unique? Productivity? Unique Productivity? http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/confused.gif

Yeah, I'm geting back into cjing as well. My first script was the s2, and krister always answered my questions quickly, but he never really helped get traffic to my site. He just told me to trade with other sites, which of course doesn't really help. He also doesn't go into details, he just sends you this long instructional manual. The manual explains everything, but if you don't understand how cj scripts work, you'll be pretty confused. I was, and I didn't know anything about cjing at the time. So after losing lots of money, I gave up cjing then.
But here's some of the basics. To trade, there is a series of specific out scripts to send hits to. I now use r and b, and I send all trades to "cgi-bin/rb2/out.cgi". This gets traffic to the websites in the database.
The reason you send hits to the url instead of sending it to http://www.domainname.com is because the script decides where to send the hits, based on what domain names you owe traffic to, and things like that. But s2 can get very complex. You can send traffic to such urls as "cgi-bin/s2/cout.cgi?perm8", well something like that. And the s2 script will send traffic to only the 8 trade partners that you owe the most hits to. You can also send quality perm hits to specific domains by using "cgi-bin/s2/cout.cgi?=http://www.domainname.com" and all traffic will go to a certain url, rather than having the script decide for you.
Anyways, that's the basics, Krister didn't even tell me that when I first started using the script, so I was sitting around for a while just trying to figure out what the script actually did. But it's all in that long manual he gives to you, and you should read it several times.

in all fairness, he is not going to have time to walk everyone through exactly what to do.

my tip to you is: don't buy Scorpion2 http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif
Buy BlindIO - or even UCJ for that matter...
Just my $0.02
Thank you, lynch1000s.
I already know the basics of CJing, have a CJ Pro site since a couple of months. My question was a little bit unclear but what I really wanted to know is what kind of trades is most common. Unique, productivity etc.
Should I use the same out script for all trades or is there any reasons to change out scripts depending of the other site..?

Hyde, not that I make any pretense of knowing what I'm doing yet with S2 :-), but I'm trading primarily on uniques. When trading with UCJ, I'm setting ratios anywhere from 120 - 180, trying to tweak it to where it keeps the trade alive, but I'm still able to keep up with it. I've got four different kinds of trade links up:
1) Out of transformer, which is currently set to send 45% to the gallery, and the rest to whoever is owed a hit.
2) Top X Referrers (set to qual_out, so that they get the hit if they're owed one)
3) A few outright blinds, set to out*4 to rotate among the four trades I'm furthest behind on.
4) Targetted blinds in my categories, set to send qual_out to my larger trades in that niche
(If I should be doing this another way, I'd be thrilled if someone could add to my education here :-)

Oh, well I'm not trying to bad mouth krister. But I didn't find him to be interested in anything more than the money I was sending him.

Without being rude lynch1000s how many people who sell you scripts send you traffic? Anyways the help section on his site is in plain english. I have never before used a cj script and had no problem. Also I trade on uniques it seems to work better. I would like to try a UCJ on my site but do not wan't to spend the money at this time (= Anyways that is my 2 cents (=
