I just got the following e-mail. Do you think this could work for porn sites?

XXX XXX. presents:
http://XXX.XXX.XXX

MLM meets XXX XXX

Every webmaster is familiar with recurring revenue.
Well, have a look at how you can earn:

PERPETUATING REVENUE!!!

The XXXX difference:
http://www.XXXXXX.com/?XXXXX

When you get paid per sign-up through other programs, you stop receiving checks the
moment you stop sending traffic.
When you do a simple revenue split 50 - 50, or even 60 - 40, your income will slowly decrease
the moment you stop promoting it. The initial return the first month may be higher per sign-up
but the long term benefits are not.

With our program, the affiliates you bring in can actually continue to increase your revenue
after you stop promoting the opportunity.
You have the potential to earn commissions on thousands of members, 9 levels deep, per
position, per month.

You are not only promoting SEX - you are promoting an opportunity to boot.
This opportunity is the key to end-user promotion, making you money while you sleep!!!
Retention with this model is THROUGH THE ROOF, as you can imagine.

Put us to the test and find out what the excitement is all about.

Click on the link below and watch the cool flash presentation.

Mmmm... 5 minutes ago, I got a mail NOT EXACTLY like yours but promoting the same thing. Coincidence? I don't think so... but it's very weird the same day different companies decide to start a biz or send spam (not to mention the same company sending different spams). If it smells fishy, it's probably rotten

btw, MLM was always scam, so beware

Yeah pyramid scheme is considered fraud.
I think the only way to fet along with it is to "cover" the pyramid with some sort of a product that you sell - like every new "member" of the pyramid has to get something in exchange for the entry fee.

I wanted to say "get along with it" not "fet... " :)

What the product you're selling is the ''dream of becoming rich with little effort''?

quotealex : I am not sure whether I understand you correctly, so there are two ways I could take it :

1. If you think that I am starting that scheme, then no I dont

2. If you are asking whether selling the idea of becoming rich with litlle effort would stand in front of the law, then I dont think it would. Its more like you have to give the subscribers something they can take or download or anything like that, selling an idea wouldnt work probably - I mean in terms of the law issues.
