Why would you need dedicated for small site and mail?
For that get DSL and host from your bedroom and save a a few $k plus you have total control.

yes i was thinking about getting cox@work. its just like the @home cable modem service but they uncap you. i think the smtp server will get alot of traffic. im not sure yet. but if i could find a cheap dedicated server or share one with someone it will be cheaper then building a server then paying for a business net connection.. or it depends on who im getting the server from. im not sure yet. my options are still open. i would like to take a look at some web hosts first.

Lots of SMPT sounds like mailing lists to me but anyhow i have run mail servers on 56k 24/7 for a few months long time ago and had no problems.
For a cheap dedicated you will get the equlivent of a store bought low end machine. No one is going to build a custom box for high end use for a cheap price.
