We have a partner who did these top minutes:
16-Oct 260.5 (1 call Netherlands)
17-Oct 378.47 (1 call Germany)
18-Oct 223.94 (1 call Germany)
19-Oct 126.16 (1 call Germany)
we suspect there is a German guy uses the
dialer as his main dialup connection

Hi,
hold times are for sure an important thing about dialers, as long as the dialer companies stick with the rules. Because if they don't they risk of getting not paid and if they don't get paid you do not get paid. These holdtime rules apply mostly to countries where Domestic Premium Rate numbers are used, e.g. USA, UK and Germany.
Just to give you an idea what the rules are for the UK just step over to the website of ICSTIS, which is regulating all Premium Rate Numbers in the UK. Here is the link:
http://www.icstis.org.uk/gu_13.htm
When you scroll down you will find the rules:
- Calls must not cost more than £20 in total.
- Calls must be terminated by forced release once the £20 cost limit has been reached.
- Calls must disconnect if the service is left idle by the customer for 5 minutes.
- A prominent and clear on-screen clock, or equivalent, which provides cumulative call cost information must be displayed on connection and for the duration of the service.
No imagine that call must be terminated after 20 GBP. With a rate of 1.50 GBP the dialer must disconnect after around 13 minutes something. If your hold times in the UK are longer and the dialer uses the 1.50 GBP rate you will be hit one day, its not a question of IF it is a question of WHEN.
Germany got similiar regulations. Their webpage is http://www.fst-ev.de . Rules are disconnection after 30 minutes and prevent that users can surf to other locations than the member's area which was advertised. This should prevent that users just forget that they are on a 3.63 DM premium rate and surf to Yahoo.com and search for stuff. The FST also says that the rate MUST be displayed at the country name. Check the dialer you are using and check if there is something like Germany DM 3,63 at the country selection box. If not your dialer is violating the rules.
You could now say: This is not my business if my dialer provider do not follow the rules, as long as I get paid. Well, thats a pretty short term view, because the more complains about dialers are received by the organisations who do the regulations for the Premium Rate Numbers, the more bad light is about dialers and the more they will focus on stopping dialers. And thats what we all do not want.
For sure, good hold times are a fine thing, as long as they are generating by playing the rules and not fucking up the people who pay you: the surfer.

First day: 480 min in Saudi Arabia
Second day: 300 min in Saudi Arabia

When he reached about 3600 he stopped, perhaps due to the phone bill.
