I'm considering getting a dedicated server and have looked at energyhosting. Their dedicated server plans look good (good price) but would appreciate some advice from anyone who has used them whether their uptime and customer support is good.
U couldn't get better story then that .
i have ordered a server from them 3 days ago , directly via someone calls himsellf EnergyHosting at icq .
He promised me the server ready the day after .
i have paid him straight away through his paysystem billing company .
yesterday i also heared him saying 'it takes time to install , but it will be ready very soon' .
I waited till few hours ago , then i called directly to their billing company and cancled it .
If he would tell me from the first place that it will take more then 3 days , i wouldn't have any problems with it .
But i dont want any host that in case of emergency will treat me the same way .
Now you are free to choose him or not .
Peace

I do not like taking privet discussions to public boards but I will respond to any defamation, libel or slander.
"i have ordered a server from them 3 days ago"
No, the server was ordered 46 hours ago.
"He promised me the server ready the day after."
And it was.
Swat, please do not post any false information about EnergyHosting. It is not our fault if 43 hours seems like 3 days to you.

I've heard MushOS have setup a line of dedicated solutions on IEP.
I think they have aimed for a cross between "cheap pipe, shit support" and "dear pipe, pukka support".
Should be interesting to see how they go, looks like a good alround bet to me.

Alternatives could be dynamic hosting, esyr, etc.

Dedicated with Isprime is the way to go. I know a few people who have dedicated with them, and are happy as shit, about prices and uptime.

Doctor Dre is referring to us in the post above...
Isprime is a good choice if you are looking for a managed dedicated server. EnergyHosting servers are not managed and are a little cheaper (although deniska may promise to price match any of our prices).

isprime is rock solid. No better support out there for virtual or dedicated machines. Most everyone has good lone streches of uptime, what matters is when they go down or you have a problem, how long it takes to fix

Each company has a different approach like energy mentioned his service is not managed and will probably benefit advance users who can take care of all the issues with their box. They are also able to offer great rates because of this. We at Isprime target webmasters who require help with managing their own servers. And try to provide the best possible support. Whether its Energy Hosting or ISPrime you will be making the right choice with both of these providers.

I have used eneryghosting for one of my sites since last september.
Just a little rundown:
I have absolutely no complaints here aside from a 1 day downtime a while back. Support is fast, the servers are fast, and the prices are good.
My suggestion, though, no offence or anything is that it is a much better virtual host than dedicated. I just say that, due to how much bandwidth you get for your money as well as the server specs.
That's not saying don't buy a dedicated server from them, just take a look at all your options.
Other than that though, it's a really nice host, and I would recommend it to just about anyone.
