this is information is to help out the drop charge guys.

for the past week we at dialerking.com have been looking into starting a drop charge dialer, and we discovered a way that webmasters can screw pay per call dialer companies, so much so it would send them broke. so we have put that idea on hold for a while

here is the reason:
mary smith is a webmaster. she joins a pay per call program run by xxx. xxx will pay mary $10 per call.

By law att and mci have whats called a pramble. that means they cannot charge someone for the first 30 secs of a call to a 1900.

So mary smith calls the xxx's 1900 number with her modem and hangs up before the 30 secs is up. Thus this makes her $10 for a call and company xxx makes a big fat $0, because of the preamble!!!

so all drop charge guys check with your supplier and try it yourself to see if we are correct. our tests show it to be the case.

Bruce,

I believe most drop charge dialer networks are aware of this.

Most of them are trying to figure out a way to shorten the call legnth because the surfer usually stays on for over 1 minute thus getting charged for 2 minutes in transfer charges.

Also preambles can be as short as 18 seconds, not 30. You can make a preamble 30 seconds long if you'd like.

michael,
yes 18 secs is true with dirty chat etc.
But mci and att decide on what they will allocate case by case.with data on a 1900 they want longer than 30ses. both att and mci reps told us the same.
with the amount of mins we do a month, these guys have got to much to lose with false info.

Terminator, I don't think it's wise to write about this in public. Someone might do it.

I don't know what to say Bruce.

Our AT&T rep allowed us to set ours at 18 seconds.

Last time I checked the preamble can be set anywhere from 18 to 999 seconds.

candid if thats the case you are lucky!! still someone can hang up before 18secs.

the worst thing will be to see those drop charge dialer smal guys go down.
I am for helping the small guys!
I used to be a small guy and was helped so i believe in passing on my knowledge to help others

why i posted that sensitive info here,is so everybody that runs a drop charge program can be warned. what they want to do about it is their business.

but we are avoiding drop charge with a
10 foot pole!

Glad to see that you're helping the little guys http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif

We've been developing our per call dialer in the past 2 months and we have it perfected so hang ups before a preamble is finished aren't an issue. http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif

See? It's takes a tad more than 10 minutes to develop a drop charge dialer http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/wink.gif

Good work with dialerking.com, I like the flash thing on the second page........but I think you should add a skip intro button on the first flash movie. http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif

We're planning on launching in about a week.

Just doing some final bug fixes. http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif

At the moment we have pretty much all of our international routes set.....but if we need any more I'll let you know!

Speaking of sharing routes. We'll have some *very* special routes that we're willing to share. I can't talk about it much, but when we're ready with them I think you'll like what you'll hear.

Hmm odd.
Ours is at 18 seconds last time I checked.

The way we have it setup is the stats will not credit an account until the username and password is given I dont think it should be the other way around.

Candid Long time... Contact me ASAP

Peace

No Richard. I just want to remain neutral with my competitors. Perhaps one of them may be an ally someday whether it's GIB, DK, or Trans Communications.

My comments towards DK were out of line in a previous thread. He pays on time, and that's the most important thing.

The bottom line is we must protect ourselves from people who accuse us of being a scam. Dialers are a legitimate payment option, and are here to stay.

thats right richard. last week candid and i let off some steam but this week it's back to normal.
this is an example of how ALL webmasters should work together instead of childish slamming. There is enough shit out there about dialers that isn't true, the last thing we need is fighting amongst ourselves.
