Hi guys.

With the currency going "live", what do you feel about being paid in EURO, as well as / instead of US$?

What about paying for products (content, hosting, traffic, desisgn, etc) in EURO?

I'm just wondering whether you'd see this as good thing or something that is not needed, because we're all so used to dealing in $.

Rich.

The euro-dollar currency fluctuates a lot.

Still I believe this is very good for sponsors/webmasters/... within Europe.

As far as international goes: dollar stays the standard I think.

The best would be if all programs would now pay-out in euro as well as in dollars.

yea, i'm not 100% on the currency fluctuation side of things, but from a practicality point of view it would now be feasible to payout in both dollar and euro.

I'm guessing though that many of us will be sp used to dealing in $ that it is not going to be a big selling point for a program.

Worth looking into i think, from a sponsor side of things.

For european sponsors it will be much better cause they have not more the problem with the exchange fees and also with the exchangerisiko that the money you earn every month wil be less worth cause his value is goin down.

I m pretty sure that the Euro will be more woth then a $.At beginning it was already that 1 $ = 0.8 Euro !!!
The problem right now was only that it was only a imaginare/invisible value in which people couldnt trust.

This will change now and Euro will be also very stabil cause china wants to change their $ and Gold into EURO.

every guy from europe that still wants to be paid in us dollars must a) be very stupid or b) have too much money... when you for example get paid per check you save all bank fees... why let your bank get $15 or you hard worked cash..
i think all big sponsor should let the european guys decide wether to be paid in euro or in usd.. it should be no big problem for them to do the changes

as denmark couldnt see the advantages of being in the EURO it doesnt matter much for me...

It will still cost money to get the check cashed etc makes no difference if its euro or dollars...

But for webmasters that live in a country with normal intelligence that will get the euro it would make sence get paid in euro to avoide the check cashing fees but on the other hand you dont get to play with the highs and lows of the euro vs the dollar...

so its a bit of a win loose situration either way... if you ask me...

richard - i would keep both very open - if you have the ability to setup a euro account - it is definately a good backup and possibly main way to go - depending on how the currency rates start working out.

i have experience between us dollars and yen and have been exchanging back and forth for a long time between 2 different accounts - in fact i was able to just recently make $0.12 on each dollar - just by converting the rate - this is all depending on your ability to use the money - in your case euro - doesnt do any good if you cannot take it out and use it :)

helloooo?! As sponsers mostly are US based and using US banks your own domestic banks would still be handling forreign checks. There will still be same work for banks = same fees. No change there because of €

Check this, a 2 euro coin and a 10 Thai bath coin.

I can tell you, the weigh the same, size is the same, thickness is the same, they feel the same.

Color looks different because the euro looks new and that Thai baht coin is very old.

2 euro is worth about $1.80 and that 10 bath coin is worth about $0.25

I think this is the most easy fraud possible, i am sure i can pay everywhere with the Thai baht and nobody will notice it. I also have a feeling cigarette machines etc. wont notice the difference.

no, not the money coming from uk or italia...
all that will be "feeless" now...

About the coins battuss, you have to know each single coin have a different border, so the machines will probably notice it :)

and for people, each euro has on one of the side, the eu sign, and on the other side, the country side from where the euro comes, so people should see it, well, i think...

Your using the wrong bank, unless you only get 1 cheque per pay period?
Natwest charge a single fee of £10 - and you can put in all your cheques in at once, even if you have 100 cheques its still only £10.

I am sorry. The introduction of the euro has not resulted in a single eurozone bank clearing system.

(Eventually) reduced fees on money transfers across the euro area will apply only to "fully automated payments". Not checks. Not yet. But U R welcome to hope ;)

Are joking???

When I was in the US, no store would accept a $100 bill, cuz they was afraid it could be a fake.

The US dollar is still the most copied in the world.

Fake money is everywhere. I saw fake BEF w/ my own eyes also. Shit, my boy even paid w/ that w/out that the bartender noticed.

I see one adavantage of getting paid in Euro for webmasters in the pertinent countries--getting rid of the fluctuations in the exchange rate :) A Euro is a Euro, but sometimes a Dollar is a little more, or a little less, than 0.8 Euro.

euro cannot be copied unlike dollar. Can you post a link concerning fake euros? I doubt about the existence of them.
