I just got back from the very first viewing of Lord of the Rings.
This was the greatest movie Ive ever seen. Its just like the book, but without the stupid singing. This was an incredibly dark and epic movie. It was even better than I had imagined, and will see it numerous times.
Whether youve read the book or not, go see it.

I have my doubts too. Gonna see it though, but later when the theatres are less crowded. I've read the three books, but not the 'prelude'. So I just bought me 'The Hobbit'. This will be my reading for the holidays :)

God damn nice movie, let me tell ya..
read all the LoTRs, the hobbit, and the silmarillion... and let me tell ya the movie is really following the lines...
They did take a few parts out, but it wasn't so important parts..
namely, they took Tom Bombadil the Running/Singing dude out LOL :)

I saw it last night - I liked it also. It brought memories of back in the days of my Amiga 500 playing games like Warlord... Or even further back, Questron or the Ultima series on my C64. :D
A bit long, but worth seeing.
