Tim, could you build in a little function in UCJ that checks a site for 404/and the like before sending owed traffic back? If the script find a 404, it waits with sending that site their owed traffic and looks for another site to distribute the hit to.

This would have huge benefits for traffic trading, as people don't have to worry that if their server goes down, all their traffic is lost. In PHP it's not more than 5 little lines, so I am sure you could make this fast and easy with C.

The UCJ demand would be larger, as sites would be more comfortable trading with UCJ sites, so give it a thought.

I think this is a great idea with good benefits for all parts, what do you think?

I am working on this for my own traffic script as in right now. http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif

it's a nice though
for sure the future scripts will have much more functions that they do know. There are plenty things to add.

I have thought of doing that for my own script to do that. It's a good idea, however it also creates a hit - the webmaster your are trading with would have to know what you are doing as you are effectively running a hitbot. The other idea I have thought of it pinging the other site if no traffic has not sent traffic for a certain period of time - again your trade partner would need to know what you are doing. If a site is sending you traffic, it's probably up and working.

that is a great idea, and all scripts should try it!

those of us with sites on the switch that went down wish our hits were waiting when we got back http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif
