any idea?
print screen wont work, paint shop pros capture feature doesnt work either
If you are using Windows Media Player, simply press the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard.
Then go into your image processor program such as Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop and chose new document and paste from clipboard.
You will get the overlay video only and there's no need to crop anything.
If for some reason, the above doesn't work out, you might try out HyperSnap DX (http://www.hyperionics.com/index.html)
Make sure you enable the "Special Capture (DirectX, Glide)" function.

You should open the movie in a movie editor.
A movie cutter or whatever allows you to edit a movie and displays the movie without using the overlay function. Then make a screencapture using print screen and crop the moviescreen.
Next make a screencapture of your mediaplayer (which shows a black windows in it on the screencapture where the movie should be)
Then you place the cut-out image of the movie inside the mediaplayer capture.
Now you have a mediaplayer showing the movie.

if you use vdub you can stop the clip at whatever spot you want a screenshot of, then capture/copy screen A or B
then open PaintShop Pro and click copy from clipboard, there it shall magically appear

if using Windows Media Player, suggest you view in full screen before using the print screen key, have others say if they do not, they end up with a black screen captured

Just get a good editor, most of them have that snapshot feature.
