dont forget to back up your trades everyday as I didn't and the script somehow deleted them all and by the time I found out about it, all my trades had died!
Dont let it happen to you!
Just press backup on every new trade, it just takes a couple of secs.
CJpro dat files can so easily be corrupted
The first warning sign is the trade showing on your admin but some of the columns not appearing. Back up straight away, download the member dat files in the backup directry to your hard drive, delete CJPro directory and re-upload whole directory. Then add the downloaded member dat file to your memberfile directory.
Oh yeah and 'free' CJ Ultra is no alternative it really blows compared, sorry lane.
I know its stating the obvious mostly but it may help some cj pro newbie and maybe saves a few sites
dont let my site die in vain! =)

is cjpro 2.0 much better?

cj pro 2 is just the free one with extra features.
I'd recommend rb2, if you want to pay a few bucks, it has a great, easy to use interface like cjpro and has all the features you really need. You can get it for $400. Defo worth saving up a couple of months for.
You can see a demo here, http://www.dieselspace.com/proggies.html
PS.I dont have nothing to do with RB2 maker, just wish I had it, after using it for a while with dieselspace.

I'm having a terrible time with it.
Same thing that's happened to Mistman, happened to mine...good thing it was only a few hours old..and I've been making backups every few hours.
What a pain though! I want to spend less time on this stuff..and more on other stuff...ya know what I mean!
And, the guy who wrote it...Banzia...is nowhere to be found..I've scoured and searched trying to find answers..
I wonder if he gave up on it? Or, maybe he's just away for a holiday?
I'll keep an eye on mine for now...keep babying it. that sort of thing...when you're just starting off and your trade partners get wiped out..why would they ever want to trade with you again! Ruin any sort of reputation you have...*lol*...
Another beautiful day in Jerk Paradise!

a lot of times you have problems with scripts because of slow server or you run out of space because of the LARGE info files. If you run a lot of traffic clear them every few days (= this may help

The main income for smaller CJs is the exit and diesel (dieselspace) steals your exit for himself.
So basically you're just running a site for him while he's makes all the money.
Diesel let me join so I can make you some more money, please!!
and.....
I really love CJ pro and I love it even more now i've seen cj ultra =)
As CJ Ultra is quite simply pants!
(lol, something we brits say)
hey badgurl,I've been looking for Banzai too and it seems like hes just disapeared.
'CJ pro 1.04 will be out start of next week...'
hmmm how comes more I see this the more I doubt it'll ever get released, if it even exists!

I heard cjultra takes 1.6% of your traffic vice 1%

Ya, that's right. It takes all of the traffic for 1 second of every minute, thus 1.6%..
Cheers,

Ok heres the deal basically the prob is with the file locking since the server is not designed to work as well with flat file databases they tend to corrupt more often. I reccomend eather a script with good file locking. However most will cost you though you could also look into a getting sql support added into script.
Time is money so if yo are willing to get a decient script it might be worth the cash in the long run when your able to leave the computer for 5 mins.
The SQL database is infamous for stability and speed over all others. I seem to have much less errors now that my server is running solaris but before with redhat it seemed to crash partially every 2-3 days http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/frown.gif
I am not shure if its the OS or just a spawn of good luck but i was away for almost an entire week and the script never crapped once http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/wink.gif
You could also use cron to do the backups automagically and modify it to email or alert you by pager when it craps very easily if you have alpha numeric/email paging like me http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif
When it comes to scripts theres good bad and ugly you just have to take what you get depending on how much you have to give.
BTW i talked to banazi and he is aware of the issues thats one reason he released the update to cjprorecalaulate which was apparently buggy. As your traffic increases your always going to be more likly to get errors and crashes so be ready.

DONT BACK UP STRAIGHT AWAY!!
you are already screwed if the colums aren't showing and the member files will be too.
Just use the backed up files from when your CJ Pro was ok.
My CJ pro did the same again but this time i was prepared and caught it early. I see now my site is too big for cj pro and really need to change scripts as soon as I can.
