I was thinking about writing a web based admin for unix servers, and I was wondering what features you guys think is most important.

Let me know what you would like to see in it, all your dreams and hopes for the perfect admin http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif

ProGod,

I don't like browser based admins, but doesn't webmin cover just about everything?

Well I think webmin is just too advanced for alot of users. Just too easy to fuck your system. I am thinking along the lines of a very easy to user interface, with the ability to do web based stuff, at new domains for users to be able to manage on their own, mail etc.

webmin looks like it was written by a unix geek, for unix geeks http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif

One web admin i have seen is at hostrocket.com

Other is one of my hosts for my non adult customers at newwebsite.com

You are able to add, forward, create dns entries on the fly and changes

Host multiple names under one account and all done via the online admin.

Chron jobs you name it.

I am not really sure what I am planning on putting in it, but I would really like to get one written especially to use on our server line at www.hiendservers.com (http://www.hiendservers.com)

Is there anything you dislike about the other admins you use?
