for sponsor tours & such, not index pages for tgps & freesites... i haven't used a ctc program for ages and comparing sponsor click-stats, for me it's probably around 10%. isn't that a little low??

That is a little low I would say but not dramatic.
for example our webmasters in http://www.firstbookmark.com/affiliates/ make about 20% click through rate to the second page where we pay them.
Now depends of how much you get paid second page, if you get a 3 cents or so second page, at 10% going through, that is $0.003 where at that point you are better selling the traffic to a pay per exit program that probably will make you more money.

now if the second page have high bided terms , ours have about 10-15 cents average, with a 20% click through rate, it makes 2-3 cents FIRST PAGE CLICK, what I consider very good for those days in our biz.

It is all about testing programs and seeing the buttom line when you have to receive the check.
