Free hosting script

Well that guy who made the Free Homepage System script which is located at http://www.spectravision.net/cgi/ totally flaked on me.

He charged me for 1100 dollars 3 weeks ago, and still did not install the script. Even worse is that he did not even provide me with a copy of the script, so I can not install it myself.

This is total bullshit. I was going to have a bannerless hosting month for the month of December which is now totally ruined thanks to that guy.

Worse yet is that I reserved ad spots in different webmaster resource sites for Jan which means I'm at the risk of losing that money I invested into it.

I have two options now:

A. Have my programmers build a script from scratch. This will take a lot of time due to software development and beta testing.

or

B. Find an alternative script and have my programmers tweek it to my needs.

So here's my question to you all. Anyone know a good free hosting script that offers things like sub domain hosting and stuff? I'm not looking for a shitty 200 dollar script, the script must be a professional one which costs 1000 dollars or more.

Oh and yes I will be issuing a chargeback soon if this guy doesn't install this thing in the next few days.

Did you do any research on spectravision? I have only heard bad things about them. I was going to buy an email script from them until a few people told me that I should stay away from them. It kinda pisses me off, they have good products but just don't run their business properly. For other scripts, not really sure. Maybe put a post on netpond, usually get decent responses there.

I bought the script from them because another webmaster did and he had his installed no problem. So I assumed it would go smoothly for me too. It's a very well written script too. It's a shame they run their business so poorly. They fucked me over real good.

I canceled my order and Spectravision charged my credit card anyway. Than I ordered the script they didn't reply for weeks on mails and I couldn't contact them on the phone. The script is very insecure and my host suggested not using it.

I mailed them a couple of times because of the return of my money and they replied:

“You are not being ignored, I will look into this.”

This was over two weeks ago.

I see you are going to offer bannerless hosting to get started, well honestly, you wont see much difference when you add the banners back in http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif We get if we are lucky 1-2% of the headers, and then that traffic (wich is all tgp shit traffic) converts horribly. Key to survival is buy bandwidth way under $1.00 per gig,if this is not possible,only do your freehosting as a hobby or a tax write off to lose money LOL.
make sure and have lots of cash and a good attorney. Copyright infringement and kiddie porn problems from your webmasters will be coming up constantly,they (webmasters) dont give a fuck if you lose your business or end up in jail, they just move on to the next freehost.


and as far as advertising your new freehost on webmaster resource sites, waste of money.... better spent on buying bandwidth in bulk so you get a cheap price, tgp posters(and this will be 99% of your webmasters) will come like swarms of locusts and use your freehost as soon as they see a gallery listed on there favorite tgp.


I know this is off topic, but just throwing in my experience of running a free web host service.

As far as making money,not sure what you guys mean by making money ,$1.00 will make some happy but it takes $5.00 to make others happy.... get it?
Wetdog...1-3 will pop-up daily,but most of those tank within a few months and then they cash out on the 404 traffic,or they quit taking new webmasters (ie cant afford growth)

Toni not sure what planet you are from,But i will stand behind what i said that tgp traffic converts horribly, i remeber the days when you could make 100+ bucks everytime on one gallery,now you have to do multiple postings to get the same money if your lucky,and im sure many on this board will agree.And no i dont run pornbillboard,still trying to figure out where in my post it says no one is making money? dont jump to conclucions.

And yes i use the Spectravision script,works fine, along with Homefree script on other freehosts with the added FTP hack.

if I make say 300$ from my gallery....
and it costs me arround 10-50$ of bandwith for that gallery...

well, the guy with freehosting has what, 10% MAX of my page...
.10 * 300$ is 30$... barely covering the price...

there is money to be made, but mostly by the tgp posters, not the freehosts...
