We should all be so happy all these new cookie/java killers are springing up..

Best part is now the CJ & TGP guys are going to take it just the same when they can no longer can get their sales tracked. I bet the exit/click programs will be toasting in celebration of a new trend that may lead to webmasters sending free traffic.

I guess this is the next big thing to fuck conversions for everyone but im sure paysite owners will love it.

This shit was submitted by a webmaster on netzero/freehost webmaster uses free ISP service & free hosting prob stolen content too...

SurfSecret™ - PROTECT YOUR PRIVACY
Remove tracks on your computer - nobody will know where you were surfing!
Operates in background - destroying cookies, history, cache, and toolbar data!
Clears activity from IM software (AOL IM, ICQ, etc!)
Prevents JAVA/ActiveX tracking
StealthMode™ hides SurfSecret™ in memory -- nobody will know its there!
Surf ANYWHERE you want.. IM nowhere near an authority on this, as I am constantly thinking I am getting fucked by sponsors, at least with broadband taking over static IP's are becoming more prominent (IMHO) so the folks developing ip tracking softwares will do okay, but this has always made me wonder.

I bought my girl a new pc couple months back, and it had XP and man, I wanted to see how some sites loaded on the new system and the first site I hit, XP asked me if I wanted to "turn off cookies: cookies are used to track you on the internet blah blah blah..., would you like to disable cookies? etc...."

Not sure if all of these things including "washer - eraser - jimmy" could be all problems feeding one chain.

Do the pop up disablers stop links that pop new windows, and how could one truly experience the web with cookies and java turned off. Shit can you even have yahoo mail and have cookies turned off?

Ive had a noticeable habit if clearing my cache for years, and if many other surfers do they clear there cache at least will as seen in the pic below, if surfers do this daily, they will also clear daily cookies, so .... its all a problem, but nothing we can do cept go with it, and find ways to remedy it.

Yes but theres a differ to manually delete cookie periodically but to have it destroyed the moment it gets set can cost sales. Not to mention most ad tracking systems and counters require cookies to get data.

So what happens when you have no cookies?

i had webmasters signing up under me for a ccbill program. about 1/3 of them weren't counted under me - very possibly from not having cookies on.
why the fuck would you want to "destroy" cookies when you can just choose not to accept it...

looks like people are going to have to find new ways of tracking users ...finger printing computers etc ...

hmmm in regard to the use of this secret surfing program im sure its quite attractive to a few people but im sure it would severly limit the functionality of certain types of sites like msn and other member sites.

As sites become more interactive and advanced in their design the sites need to fingerprint users so they can tailor their services towards these users...people who start to use these programs will start to find that these programs limit their use of more and more websites as the nature of websites changes...

Customization/Personalisation is the future ..

laters,
Chris
