i can tell you what DOESN'T make a good banner... making the site name the biggest thing on the banner. also those banners that use a green or blue tint - natural skin color is a trigger to most men.

too many words isn't very good for clicking, either. i have kept track of many banners and how many hits they sent over the years, and if you bury the surfers in text, they move on.

really kewl fonts that no one can read are a big problem i see sometimes.

katdaddy,

What banner design to use is most often decided by what kind of program you will be promoting ( pps, bl, ppc etc. ). I have found that the most productive banners is often the banners that take the content of the page a step further. Ie. If you have a picture gallery with a specific girl your banners would say "click here to watch my hot videos". Or, if you have a video preview page your banner could say "click here to watch my live feeds". Bright colors and animation will often give you a higher click through, but not necessary better sales. Keep animations close to the important text in the banner, otherwise they will "only" see the animation and not your sale slogan. Also "size matters" :-), if the banner is to big, there is a big chance they won't see your banner at all. Banner placement is maybe the most important aspect of them all. Always place your banner in a logical situation, a tit banner should be on your tit page and so on. Other tips and trix - Most people in the western world read from left to right and eventually end up at the bottom of the page. So with that in mind, your prime spot for your banner would be at the bottom of the page or on the right side of your content.

basschick said something good
>too many words isn't very good for clicking,

Powerful short sentences is usually the best way to go ;-) and they should always include an incentive to click, like "click here to buy my videos, click here to watch my videos, click here to hot-wire my pussy ".

Take care

ChrisL
http://www.thaichix-cash.com/
