Hi, I foung a new webhost, he is installing 24U cabinet on his server, but what does that mean?

I think you mean 2u. That would mean the height of the server case.

We prefer to put servers in cabinets, not cabinets on SERVERS. Puting cabinets on servers usually causes the servers to break and/or overheat. http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif
Why don't you ask your host what does it mean? Isn't your host suposed to be able to answer questions?
The size of servers is measured in Us (Units), each unit is 1.75" of hight. 12 2U servers can fit in a 24U cabinet.
All it says is that your/the host has small cabinets for some odd reason.

The case size means little... Its the hardware inside that makes the difference.

Well case size does make a difference. Usually the smaller the server, the cheaper it is to host it. Being as though a 1u server takes alot less space then a 4u server.
