Listen to those who knows... :D
I said some time ago that Raptors would be the surprise. But they won't win (even when it would be nice)
Anyway, I'm more interested in Indianapolis World Cup

Ideal scenario:
Eastern conference finals: Toronto:Washington (Vince vs. Michael) :p
Western Conference Finals:
Lakers:Sacramento
But of course LA will be champs again ;)

yellofello ,
heheh you just had to smudge that in didn't you =).
The owner of the team , is public enemy number 1 here in vancouver. He had promised us he wouldn't move the team yet he did. The last 10 games or so there was over 25,000 people in every game yet they still moved them.

Yeah, Michael Heisley sucks donkey cocks. It's too bad that we don't have a team anymore; I went to 5 or 6 games/season every year the Grizz were here. I even went to a Bull's game in the Grizzlies' first or second season, and afterwards we went to The Roxy, and a bunch of the Bull's were there, including MJ, Pippen, & others...and there were quite a few hockey players there too from the Canucks/Blackhawks game.
As a matter of fact, two of us went over and saw the Raptors in Van for the last season. It was a Sunday 12 noon game I believe. Saturday night we went out to the clubs, and at 3 AM or so heading back to where we were staying, we went by some club I'd never heard of, I think the name was "Purple" something...Simon? So we're driving by this place and casually look over at this place, and there's Vince, Oakley, and one other guy, I forget the name, having a great old time! I don't think they were too worried about the Grizzlies...

Yep , stars always come down here to have a good time.
Specially around Robson street, if you go to the clubs down there, you'll difinately see couple of big time stars.

25k every game's kind of a stretch isnt it? i thought max capacity was a little under 20k?? weird thing is that there wasn't a lot of fan support when they were here, and once we heard they might leave, that's when all the cryin and bitchin started
don't get me wrong.. heisley's still a cocksucker :D

It's that laid-back BC attitude...we don't get all worked up about things like that until it's too late. Too many "Ross Rebagliati types" I guess...

Best season in years, MJ is back. Him and KOBE to square off will be best game in years.. My money is on Lakers this year!!
Jordan is good but I dont think can pull a championship with those guys who suck so bad for teammates... Wizards need another good player or 2 then they could pull off a win no doubt. The pre-season has been awesome so far cant wait till Tuesday for the season tip-off :)

Jordan VS Carter is going to be insane.
Same style of play for both.
Too bad they dont show any of the preseason games on TV.

It will probably be lakers-sixers again (How that for going out on a limb?)
I'm rooting for the sonics though
Maybe they can pull something out of thier ass I hope and get them damn lakers ;)
Simon

yea difinately, since the sonics are the closest to this town i may go down and watch a couple of games.
Isn't the all star game in seattle this year or is it in Philedelphia?
sonicpuke

Not sure about the all star game. Would be cool if it was here though ;)
People are saying that Gary Payton has turned over a new leaf and he's playing team leader/teacher to the young talent here so I'm hoping a miracle will happen and they'll 360 things in the other direction. They actually had a good record last year once Nate Mcmillian became coach so I'm hoping if they just keep it up they'll be back to the final ;) They also won the season series with LA last year. Just didn't make the playoffs ;(

They should have never got rid of Shawn Kemp. I remember back in the days , GP and Kemp were un-stopable.
By the way , i hear the court side tickets for the all star games go for $4000 - 5000.
Thats crazy.
sonicpuke
10-27-2001, 12:40 AM
Yeah Shawn Kemp split town on us :( He went straight downhill from thier though. I'm glad he's gone really. I wish Vin Baker would play up to say 1/2 of that contract he's got though ;( They say he's in great shape blah blah blah but I heard that last season too ;(
Gary at least I know he'll have his game if nothing else ;)
Rashard Lewis and Desmond Mason are supposedly the future of the team now though. They are good but I think they both need some work.

Paytons contract is over after this season, is seattle resigning him or whats the deal?
sonicpuke
10-27-2001, 02:35 PM
Yeah the sonics been grumbling about trading payton all summer. I guess they just didn't get a good enough deal though. (I heard the were going to trade him for shareef abdur-rahim (Sorry if I mispelled that ;) but that deal fell through.
Gary has been talking about how he wants to stay in seattle even though the team seems to want to trade him. He's even been addressing the problems they seemed to have with him (His temper and his not having been a team leader in the past in the sense of helping and teaching the younger players) He's been saying no problem I can do that from what I hear and has been actually doing it.
If there isn't a big improvement in the team before the trading deadline I would expect they would trade him. (And lose my support from there out by the way)
I don't think you trade such a big star when they not only want to stay but have the consistent stats gary has had over the years (Only missed 4 games entire career and 2 of those from suspensions) His stats have always been good too.

Yes I've seen him play.
Very good player (I wouldn't cry if he came to the sonics ;)
I wouldn't call him the next jordan yet though ;)
I don't have much bad to say about him though. He seems like quite a player when I've seen him play.

Huh? who is this guy?
lol, Dallas signed Novinski to a 6 year 90 million dollar contract. I personally think they are out of their minds.
How in the world does vince carter get a 5 year contract worth 70-80 and Novinski rack up 90 mill for a 6 year contract .
Then again , Dallas is owened by a internet CEO or a x-CEO. The guy has billions so it doesn't really suprise me.
sonicpuke
10-27-2001, 08:41 PM
Yeah novinski is pretty good too. He might be a bit overpaid but if he continues to get better he might actually be worth that much. (Too bad they won't be able to have too many other good players though if he ties up so much salary cap)
Turkulo is a good shooter and ball handler for a big man (I think he's small foward but I think he's also almost 7 footer). Good player especially in playoffs last year.
If he's as good as he seems people will know who is is soon but I don't think he's a real threat to jordan at this point ;)

Wizards should have gotten Barkley and Rodman to sign with them. Every one of their game would have been sold out no matter how many games they keep on loosing.
:D
