Summer is never as good as the rest of the year (yes, I know it's not summer all over the world but the US still drives a majority of the business) -- people don't want to sit inside on the computer while they are at Disneyland, the lake or the beach...

Mid August it will start to pick up when all the kiddies go back to college and don't have mommy and daddy checking their computer to see if they're looking at nudie pics http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif

Same shit every year. Summer is a time when you need to keep focused. A lot of people fuck off all summer long. Well, that might be cool for 8 year olds, but I never had a 2 month paid vacation in my life. That is a great way to go out of business. Enjoy the nice weather, but make sure you take care of your business. Because it really pays off when the college boys go back to campus.

The iBill problems were not what I was expecting. That has cut into my plans a bit. Kind of hard to count on a sponsor when the cc processor scrubs so hard you can't get a trial, and have even less success re-billing them.

I think dialers are still doing well yea you have to push it a little harder but if you still get the traffic you can still make a good living just think of new ways to push it and everything will turn out then when it gets cold again you will make double the bucks http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif now far as pay sites credit card processors i will be fighting that dog here before long also when i get all my sites going again and will be getting with kimmie on tips for the billing <font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by nic:

I don't use dialers any longer, so I can't comment on that.

I know my CCBill and IBill sponsorships are doing just fine.

I'm actually impressed because I know the summer is a slower period and hopefully it will get better come late August, early September.

Take care,

Tommy

It's the heat...I haven't made a single sale since the heatwave started over like half of north america. Who wants to sit and sweat in front of a hot puter before they even get to the porn...
pray for rain, pray for rain...

Playa said it right. Think LONG TERM. Summer is the best time to bust ass and be prepared for the fall boom. Every year is the same. Come fall there are less webmasters and more money for those still around :-))

In summer it is very important to work harder than ever and try new things. Don't rely on the same ol shit. Try new stuff and stay focused on your long term goals.

In this industry whether it be summer, christmas, new years, super bowl, cc processors, sponsor problems, whatever the problem may be, you have to ROLL WITH THE PUNCHES.

And of course PLAY SOME DAMN GOLF! That helps ease the stress.

Here's a thought for next year -- when I was still a webmaster around March or so I shifted as much of my traffic to recurring programs as I could, to get a little bank built up to tide me over during June and July -- then the first part of August I moved the traffic back to per signup programs --

This allows you to take maximum advantage of the times when joins are good but also keeps you from going broke when they aren't http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif
