Active x vs. downloading .exe

I'm not looking for a dialer so don't spam.

What do other webmasters here use to get better use of their dialers? I have always liked having the surfer download it themselves. But I have been testing out this active x with mixed results it seems.

Active X and Java Alerts work best for most webmasters.

When I used to let the surfer download the EXE by clicking on a link I made allot less minutes than when I started using a java alert.
