There are lots of sneaky ways of getting a virus or trojan executed. You could even put one in a movie. While someone watches the movie, it also runs the virus. With icq, it is possible to send a file named:

kcj.zip___________________________________.exe

so the file is an exe, but icq file transfer looks like a zip.

You can also change the icon of the file to make it look like a zip icon on the desktop...

Also, if you put it in a zip, and name it setup (i think that is what you name it), lots of people have the option checked to auto run the setup file with winzip.

I will just say this.. there is NO WAY to get a virus from a movie! Never! No way! The only way you got a virus from that zip was.. it was .exe you can do that with a zip.. or you opened it and run a .exe inside.

Don't start freaking people out. That ass sent me the same thing.. didn't except the file.

I was preety sure you can implement a virus in a movie, I have never tried it though. If you bind the exe with it. I though one of the dialers had it. When they ran the movie, it installed the dialer software.

NOTE: I have experiemented with Trojens for education reasons never used em to hack people just to help my self from being hacked i hope this info helpes...

Basiclly a un-binded Trojen/Virus is .exe and when it's run nothing happens.. this would general spoke people out if a .exe is run and nothing happens so people generally bind trojens!

Lets say the Trojen/Virus is binded with a movie the binded file still would be .exe except when it runs it extracts the movie and runs it... causeing the virus to be run with the movie tricking the person to think it was a movie...

Also people on IRC/ICQ/E-MAIL etc.. will trick you into thinking it's a movie even further by naming the file as
.avi .exe
and making the exe not visible in the download screen!

I RECOMMEND INSTALLING A FIREWALL THEY ARE GREAT STOP ALL TROJENS!

Anthing that trys to connect to your computer from the internet will have to go throught your firewall your firewall asks for permission from you if that person can connect to your computer then u know your being hacked! but have stopped it!

Use a Trojen Cleaner/Virus Checker To Clean The Trojen and if you are still reseiving these attempted connections backup your data and format your computer!

I know about the binding thing, for I have sent out many trojans, but I still thought I saw a movie file that installed te dialer software. Not an exe. Just because the public binders just do exe as the final file, doesn't mean that is all you can do. I don't know I was a while ago.

Ok. I was a bit brief before. Let me clear some things up.

A Trojan horse program is a malicious program that pretends to be a
benign application; a Trojan horse program purposefully does something
the user does not expect. Trojans are not viruses since they do not
replicate, but Trojan horse programs can be just as destructive.

Many people use the term to refer only to non-replicating malicious
programs, thus making a distinction between Trojans and viruses.

A virus is a computer program file capable of attaching to disks or other files and
replicating itself repeatedly, typically without user knowledge or permission.
Some viruses attach to files so when the infected file executes, the virus
also executes. Other viruses sit in a computer's memory and infect files as
the computer opens, modifies or creates the files.

Some viruses display symptoms, and some viruses damage files and
computer systems, but neither symptoms nor damage is essential in the
definition of a virus; a non-damaging virus is still a virus.

There are computer viruses written for several operating systems including
DOS, Windows, Amiga, Macintosh, Atari, and UNIX, and others.


So for either of these to work they must be executed. A move that is called say "hotchicks.exe" isn't really a movie but an executable file.
Sure a move could be in the .exe, but so could anything else. The only way to be safe about a movie is if it has an .avi, .mpeg, .mgp, .rm, .asf,
.bin, .dat, .vcd, and so forth.. never .exe do you know for sure it's a movie. If there ever comes a day where a virus can be imbedded in a .jpg, .gif, or
a movie file, we are in deep shit! Also, even if you have a virus.. say badthing.exe and rename it to badthing.avi that would not work.. Your system
would try and open it as a movie.. but it still would not execute.
