Hey. What you think about that host ?

Let's see what they will do.
I personally think they will screw everybody,
see rule 18:
18. You agree that ZFreeHost will use your sites 404 traffic for its own advertising purpose.
When a lot of traffic is comming in and they want to earn some bucks,
they will hit the switch and all sites/pages will go to their 404 page,
they won't be the first free host who does that.
just my 2 cents

There's no way a freehost's gonna make it on 404 traffic only... something bad will come.. that's my thought

hehe... Im thinking instead of headers theyre throwing a nasty activex script that gets the email of every user to the page. For mass spamming. Cuz in there FAQ it says we collect your email address.
This means no big tgps will list them, and TGP compliant....... hehe: )sure ....
If im wrong about the activeX then my bad.. but thats what I think theyre doing. Anyone have a gallery URL. Id like to see it.
Here's an older gallery of mine hosted there http://www.buylivesex.com/addy/up/nb.htm
I was curious about this host too and i made an account this mornin' ..
Nothing suspicious happened .. but is still time .. no ? :D

There is always a catch, nothing is free in this world! :(
Its just not feasible for them to give away bandwith like that.
They either add banners in a couple weeks or start hijacking your traffic or even start deleting hi traffic accounts to enjoy the traffic!
It's been done before...
No harm in giving it a try, just dont cancel your paid hosting :D

there aren't miracles on the internet
It seems that the only smart way to use them would be to host your domain over there and if/when shit will hit the fan transfer it back to you paid host.
You will loose up to 72 hours of traffic and face a possible blacklisting thought, but it's better than loosing 100% of traffic.

if you control your own dns it will only take 5mins to switch the traffic back so if you do control your dns move all ya shit over and get free bw :)

Can I host the DNS for my sites myself? How?

After you create your account log-in and provide a domain name you want to use. It is instantly done.
Then, simply have your ISP/Host, if they provide you with DNS service, to point your domain towards the IP of the server they assign you. Do this by opening up a DOS window (if you use Windows) and ping the server name. That will be the IP number to use.
If you control your DNS just do it yourself.
I wouldn't recommend changing your DNS servers to their's as this will take longer if you have to switch DNS server IP numbers in the event they don't provide the stated service as they have promised.

Yeah I'd go for just "IP-pointing" too, that way you can change your domain instantly.
Question:
I'm using registerfly.com and want to do IP pointing, is this correct ? :
HOST NAME----RECORD TYPE----Pref----ADDRESS
mydomainname.com---Address--------10------free host IP
or should it be
HOST NAME----RECORD TYPE----Pref----ADDRESS
www---Address--------10------free host IP
or should I replace www with @

I wonder what the real business idea is behind this ...
Webmaster emailing and 404 traffic won't bring in much money... On the other hand, if they start redirecting the traffic or put up the usual headers/footers, the webmasters will leave them (in the latter case beacuse they all joined on the premises of enjoying bannerless free hosting).

ZFreeHost? Very intriguing. But my research tells me, that PimpServer/ISPRime is behind the whole fiasco.
Can't say much about the company cuz I haven't dealt with em directly but I can assure you this freehost is going to be out of the market real soon. Trusting your traffic to a company that's hiding their latest freehost, is a little ridiculous.
Especially with the recent complaints about redirecting international traffic from PimpServer.com!
It'll be 2 weeks before they start redirecting your entire site to a 404 page, but only for 15 mins, that way you'll never catch on to it but your surfers will
