How do you treat the surfers?

I recently got an email from a TGP2 owner stating that my gallery had been rejected because his TGP2 was no longer accepting Galleries where the fullsize images do not open in another html page. <br />I emailed him why they had instituted this rule while almost all other TGP TGP2 site ban opening fullsize images in another html page.<br /><br />H's reply<br />"Sure, the TGP2 Collective which is being created has a STRONG preference to pics on HTML. These rules are coming into effect at the moment.<br /><br />It is a waste of advertising space and too easy on the surfer to have pics as just JPG's.<br /><br />If TGP2 sites continue to go to requiring or allowing pics as just JPG's we will end up like TGP1 with a heap of freeloaders and no revenue.<br /><br />Hope this explains things."<br /><br />I'm not going to debate anything with him. His site his rules.<br /><br />What got me thinking was the part about being too easy on the surfer.<br /><br />I checked out this site just to see how it treats the surfers. I only made it through about 10 posts. He is using a scritp the randomly redirects about 50% of a clicks to a blind link either to a another TGP2 , a 404 page, or pop up hell.<br /><br />I understand we don't want to surfers coming back day after day to get more and more free porn. Though I think this guys site has gone too far. I doubt if any of the surfers who make it to his site make it through 25% of his galleries before they get decide to go elsewhere.<br /><br />What do you think?<br /><br />--Gel

Surfers are freeloading fuck nuggets and deserve to be treated as such. When running a tgp, when you see most of your traffic and downloads are coming from a few select places, they are just freeloading. They won't buy now, they won't buy if you make it easy on them. <br /><br />Are you in the business to sell porn or are you paying the surfer to look at it? If they aren't buying, you are paying them to look at it. Nothing says they need to go into a popup hell that can only be stopped by a machine shut down, but fuck, can you afford to have freeloaders only on your sites? <br /><br />You can use aggressive advertising, i.e. have more than one or 2 links per gallery. Shit, ADVERTISE. Only tgps with traffic like hun and al4a and worldsex can afford to give away shit, as their traffic load allows them to sell advertising to offset the cost of actually having to sell to the surfer themselves.<br /><br />Other tgps with far less traffic have such stringent rules in pathetic attempts to be like these large tgps that they only post galleries with next to no advertising on them. No ads on the tgp sites either. Where's the money there? Trades? Oh fuck please. <br /><br />This is a multiple rant, but you know, I am so sick of trying to make money off galleries that if you allow only one or 2 links on a gallery page, you won't be getting gallery postings forever and certainly not from me. And all you new guys that keep submitting 30+ pic galleries with no links, you need to fuck right off.<br /><br />Finally, my damn truck is dirty and I need someone to wash it. And make me a sammich.

Perhaps the TGP2 owners have forgotten why TGP1 stopped allowing pics on HTML pages in the first place. It was because people kept cheating, using some or all pics to redirect traffic and other nastiness.<br /><br />Its much harder to validate a thumb page which doesn't directly link to jpegs. If TGP2 gets bigger than it is, it'll be plagued by all the same problems TGP1 originally had.

TGP will never prevail over TGP its like tring to reinvent the wheel some guys say 25 images work some say 10 others say 40 who the fuck knows...<br /><br />Its all about what works for each person not about how little or how much bottom line is what makes the $$$ period. TGPs cut back on ads to get massive traffic and cut their own throat with bandwidth bills and end up having to sell most of it to survive. <br /><br />I rather have 2k raws daily and make $50 then have 50k raws a day and make $100 but hell if you like to throw money away i got lots of bandwidth and loads of other shit to sell you. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="smile.gif" />
