Hey Guys,

I was wondering if anyone know of a free service that will submit your URL for you for free?

Here is one I use but it doesn't take porn sites. So I just submit the site without the use of adult words.

Anyone know of a better one?

Thanks,
The Jester

worldsubmitter.com , they accept adult sites , but you should use a fake email adress or you will be spammed by some searchengines.

Here's a cool Search Engine tip that I learned a long time ago...

Let's use the domain "blue" as an example...

Week One:
Submit... http://www.blue.com

Week Two:
Change your Meta Tags a little and Submit... http://blue.com

Week Three:
Change your Meta Tags a little and Submit... http://www.blue.com/index.html

Week Four:
Change your Meta Tags a little and Submit... http://blue.com/index.html

Week Five:
Start over...

It works... just don't get greedy...it starts out slow and builds up!

I get around 4,500 daily hits just from search engines.

Thanks for the Tahnk You's!

Did you know Alta Vista has 3 seperate databases?

They do this because of the LARGE number of search request. This means that you coulc be listed in one of their databases...but NOT the other two. This means that 2 out of every three searches will NOT give them your site.

The way I learned to get around this is VERY Tricky...

You have to submit your URL at...then wait 4 hours and submit again... wait 4 hours and submit again...

The next day... do the same thing... THEN STOP SUBMITTING for 7 to 10 days!

You see... in an effort for Alta Vista to maintain their speed... they couldn't have everyone searching the same database at the same time... or it would kill their speed... so they use the 3 seperate databases... It's almost impossible to get listed in all 3...unless you've read this.

Did you ever look for your listing in Alta Vista and find it fairly easy...then later that day or the next day you couldn't find it? That's why.

About Yahoo... I know Canada.com used to use the same database as Yahoo does... I'm not sure if they still do... I think so. This means submitting to Canada.com will get you in Yahoo's database...

So far though, Google is the best place to be listed. Their search engine spiders visit EVERY SINGLE PAGE that you have on the doamin you submitted... this means that you should NEVER have a page onlie WITHOUT META TAGS! You should have Meta Tags on EVERY PAGE you EVER put online....EVERY SINGLE PAGE. Spiders eat Meta Tags and will not like your site unless you have them!!!!!!

I've taken up enough of your time...

Sorry about the typos... I was typing too fast.

Submit to Alta Vista at any time... then wait 4 hours and submit again... then wait 4 hours and submit again.

I had mentioned in my original post that I get 4,500 daily from search engines... you could get more or less... but don't depend on one search engine... submit to all of them once a week using slighly different URLs and Meta Tags...

I get 4,500 from search engines and the rest from everywhere else.

We were just talking about search engines though.

Hi everyone,

Let me just clear a few things up:
1- Big_ray's idea on submitting the 4 variations will work for the first few months until the search engines re-spider you. Once they do, all 4 listings will stay but will all have the same titles/descriptions. Not as beneficial as when it was first listed, but doesn't hurt.

2- Canada.com was based on inktomi database, which Yahoo used to use. Now they use Google so canada.com and yahoo have no ties.

3- As for the altavista rotations, I never heard of that for AV, but definitely this exists for google. For google though, its just multiple copies of the same database and sometimes they revert to an old version while they are updating.

That's top notch clarfication Wired Guy...

About Alta Vista... If you stagger your submissions as laid out in my first message... then the spiders won't revisit your site at the same time... they'll visit a week apart...since you submitted them a week a part. The plan was to change the Tags a little and submit EVERY week from now on...so even when the spider comes back to revisit... it's different because you change the Meta Tags weekly. That's all I meant.

I knew Canada.com and Yahoo used to be tied together...I'm sorry to see that they've split...because that was an easy way to get listed in Yahoo.

Google is the best place to get listed in my opinion... I get the bulk of my SE traffic from them.

I hope all of the info provided in these threads have been interesting at least. Well, at least it took up some time and provolked some thoughts.

Enjoy the rest of your weekends...
