TGSW Database - good or bad?

I saw the databases for sale in the spam section, basically they are all the files you need to run tgsw "out of the box", rather than have to go to each of the 600+ tgps and collect recips / link codes etc.

"Rich" said the post should be deleted for many reasons - one of which could possibly be that by buying the database, and not having to goto each site and read all the rules could result in more sub-standard galleries. (sorry for putting words into your mouth Rich, you might not have meant that at all).

What does everyone think about such a product, good thing, or bad thing?

Personally, i got the database files from a friend, i did not setup TGSW myself - no time. I think its a good idea, and only frustrated i did not see its potential myself http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/wink.gif

It allows people who are'nt making a serious effort to post a bunch of lame ass crap and ruin it for the rest of us.

It's like all tools, it can be abused. I bought a copy recently, and it seems to work well. They've just recently announced an update that expands the number of categorys from a handful to about 110; I've not tried it yet, but that'll be a welcome change.

The thing you're betting on is that they've read the rules properly and properly implemented them. From the standpoint of a TGP owner, as far as I'm concerned anything that might improve the accuracy of the category some of these people submit is worth it's weight in gold. I'm tired of getting lesbian galleries on my Gay TGP, babe galleries on my Fetish TGP, and bondage galleries on my Babe TGP. :-)

I can't see that it's going to change the cheater/spammer percentage significantly. If they've done a good job, and it looks like they might have, then as a post owner you -could- view this as some of these people paying $99 for someone to read the rules for them and give them a clue, which would be a good thing, imho :-)

How hard is it to make a gallery page that is accepted by all TGPs?

I went through the top 20 tgps when i was setting it up (before thinking sod this) and each TGP was near enough the same as the last.

Perhaps a summary of rules, or maybe a database of tgps that this "summary" would cover?

it's impossible to make a gallery that will be accepted by all tgp's as many post a certain niche ONLY or don't post certain niches.

mature only tgp's don't want teen pics. teen only tgp's don't want gay. shemale only tgp's don't want lesbian pics.

my shemale only tgp gets 75% straight pics every freaking day - i wish people would just glance at the rules once.

I've got to be honest, i've not really used TGSW all that much.

If they have the different folders set up, then surely they have each TGP's database entry within the rules? So if i put gay pics in my GAY directory, it should only submit to sites that have a gay category?

Tgsw is pretty smart to handle all the niches for an example of a gay tgp wich only wants gay pics. If the little box for just the gay directory is checked then the tgp only get gay pics. http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif

No, your exactly right -- For the most part, if you build (as I'm sure most of us do) a gallery that has 15 - 20 decent sized clear thumbs linked to the appropriate decent sized clear larger picture, make it so that it has as much visual appeal as it does advertising, keep any blindlinks tasteful, put on the appropriate recips, and don't be a cheating, redirecting, thumb-linking, console-popping beeeatch :-), you're going to get accepted on most every gallery post.

The two caveats I have are actually getting it in the right category for the post and putting a decent description on it for those posts that take descriptions.

The database would appear to help on one of these issues (getting it in the right category). It's still a pain to change the descriptions in TGSW tho, but you've got to do it if you want good listings.
