How to start an adult site?

Hi everybody!

Well, I run a nice and little celebrity website on sexshare.com for over 8 months now but they continue to spam my pages with big annoying text links etc.
This site has about 350 visits (UNIQUE) per day currently while the average is at 290 unique visits...

I read like every article about adult webmastering available (newsletters, ontheropes.com etc.) but some say like this and others right the other way

for example : I read that starting a site on an own domain makes no sense with less than 2000 visits/day "start"


well, next prob: I need a cheap but good webhost for the domain..I'm really afraid that the site takes too much bandwith so I end up with a $ 300 bill and nothing in my hands http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/frown.gif

btw: currently I use a pay per sign up sponsor (celebs) which pays me $40 per sign up, this way I get $80 every 2 months..not much, but its ok right now

to make it short, I need the following and I hope anybody can help:

- domain name
- cheap web host

http://prohosters.com/ is inexpensive and have great rates.

BTW, we run over 140 sites... very few have over 2000 hits/day. Nowadays, a normal site (not CJ or TGP) receiving 200-500 hits a day is not bad... not great but not bad. Our normal sites average between 250-5000 hits/day, mostly search engine traffic. Of course we host our own sites, but pro hosters handles our CJ2 site because of their bandwidth rate and cgi capabilities.

yeah prohosters are pretty good, 2$ pr. gig
at 100$ a month is pretty cheap - and they are online on ICQ
all the time...

whatever you do stay away from interland they

If you are gonna do a site where you will work
on getting many visitors and bookmarkers you
should get a real host fast, sooner or later you
are gonna get screwed on a freehost and all
your hard work will be lost since you cant take
your traffic with you.

i don't know about celeb, but many of our sites get over 2000 a day without any work or attention from us... better get some cheap hosting soon!

you could try these guys - a friend of mine uses them and they're okay - http://hosting.adultcentral.com/ 36.99 for up to 40 gig a month.

as long as you don't get listed on thehun everyday....and you incorporate what you learned in the past 8 months you'll never have to worry about losing profits....

prohosters is a great site to get started with your own domain.....

when you made them $80.00 you might have been surprised to make $200.00 if you had your own domain..... something for you to think about

I think I will try prohosters, the deal seems to be very fair.

Does anybody have experience with them? I really want to know at which speed they can transfer...I know many surfers use cable/dsl at these days and I dont want to disappoint anybody using it - sexshare is only at 7kb/sec which is of course very bad http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/wink.gif
