that address they have on there check is about 20 minutes from here
Easy_R,
PayCounter certainly does exist.
If you look at the account number encoding printed at the bottom of the check, you'll see that the company who prints our checks made a printing error. This happened on a handful of checks.
You've made no attempt to contact us regarding this problem. It is inappropriate to post this in a public forum before giving us an opportunity to resolve this matter.
All funds owed to your account will be sent immediately and your webmaster account will be closed.
We do not need, nor do we want to do business with webmasters like you.
In the future, anyone that has any issues with PayCounter should contact us so that we may do whatever is necessary to resolve the matter quickly.
Regards,
KC

Muff,
We are a 3rd party statistics tool for Adult webmasters. (ie: an adult counter). We provide excellent stats for our webmasters and actually pay webmasters for the traffic that clicks through on the counter image. Take a look at http://www.paycounter.com to get more info and setup an account. Give it a shot, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif
Easy_R,
Correct, the printing error was our mistake. We should have caught the error before the checks were mailed. We are rectifying that situation by issuing new checks to those effected.
The issue here is that you took the time to:
a) scan the check
b) upload it to your server
c) post about the situation in a public forum
BEFORE you took 30 seconds to send an email to us asking what the problem was and how we planned to fix it.
In the future, I hope you contact your sponsor(s) directly with any issues before posting publicly.
Regards,
KC

KC... Bit of an over reaction don't you think.
A question was asked. That's all. He did not crap all over you. He just asked if anyone knew about you. Something which occurs quite a bit on this board. The fact that there was incidental bad publicity because of it was your fault not his.
And as far as sending an email is concerned, when you found out that some of your checks were mis-printed shouldn't YOU have contacted your webmasters before letting them bank their checks and incurring a fee?
Get off this guys case, and leave the holyier than thou crap for Sunday morning church.
Treat your CUSTOMERS better than that.

Perhaps the way you dealt with this issue will cause you more "bad publicity" than the orginal issue?
food for thought.
Rich.
Well, I dunno a lot of counters that pays you to use it...so maybe I'll try it out. http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif

Whoever signed the cheque was sloppy.
How can somebody sign a cheque and not notice he is improperly printed ?

It's lame to terminate one's account from this case.
This company got offensive too easily... http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/cool.gif
Here's the bottom line.. (last post from me http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/wink.gif)
The situation was a private matter, it should have been handled privately in e-mail.
Webmasters that did contact us directly and notify us of fees they incurred were compensated for those fees in addition to receiving a replacement check. Webmasters that bust our balls in public before contacting us are not treated nearly as nicely. http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif
I think we take great care of our customers. We put a lot of effort into handling customer questions or other issues quickly and professionally. If anyone else needs to get ahold of us for any reason, please see:
http://www.paycounter.com/support/
or contact me directly at:
kc@paycounter.com
Easy_R and I will continue this discussion in e-mail.
Thanks,
KC

I think KC from paycounter overreacted on this, I am not sure what he wants to prove by canceling the guy, if not that he runs a biz based on his personnal wishes/opinions not on facts or in a professionnal way. As in other "real life regular contract" you cannot fire somebody because you feel like or because he says he is not happy with you...
That is not our problem but I post this to back up Easy_R and not let us sponsors intimidate webmasters. We make a living because of you webmasters and YOU are the ones that drive our programs not us http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif
Peace to everybody

All I have to say is this is not in my mind a slam on paycounter.com what so ever! Give me a fucking break. He asked a question. A slam in my mind would be something along the line of "Paycounter.com sucks fucking shit!! Stay the hell away from them!! They sent me a check that bounced!"
I will make sure to stay far away from you if that is a slam in in your mind. Im scared to think what you would have done in the case of this guy really slamming you. I don't need a sponsor like you thats for sure..
Total crap!

I agree that Paycounter is in the wrong here. 1) They [censored] up the check. 2) They knew that some checks got [censored] up and (it seems) didn't bother to email anyone about it. 3)They Shouldn't throw someone out of their program for bringing their failures out in the open and asking a question.
My 2 cents

i can't really see cancelling the guy's account. he was not abusive, and his check came back in a very usual way.
as far as keeping it private, we are all in the same business here. why does it have to be private? why is it inappropriate?
true, i would have emailed, but everyone doesn't react in the same way - it shouldn't cost them their counter account if they don't react in a way that you or i find inappropriate. everyone does business differently.

Personally, I would have emailed them directly, I wouldn't post anything in public until I had at least attempted to resolve it amicably in email or over the phone.
With that said, I would like to point out that many sponsors are now reacting this way. I don't know how you can run a porn company in the United Stats of America, (home of the free) and then say in your terms of service (if it's not in there, they don't have a legal leg to stand on) that webmasters accounts can and will be canceled if they say anything that the sponsor deems inappropriate.
It amazes me, that they rely on the freedom of the press and expression to run a porn program to begin with, and then so eagerly wish to take away these very same rights from the people that they do business with.
Wow, it sure doesn't work that way in the 'real' world. We actually have whistle blower laws that prevent large corporations from taking actions against their own employees who speak out.
Sounds pretty fascist to me.
Hey Guys,
Have we beaten this to death yet?

once you start rolling the snowball down the hill http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/wink.gif
Easy_R got his account back yet KC?
I think it sux that now a days many sponsors think Public Relations is the same thing as having their banners splattered on as many pages as possible and buying advertising space different places.
Spending $1000 a month on advertising and nothing on PR will give fast money now.
Spending $500 on advertising + $2500 on a PR consultant / monthly will generate more revenues in the long run even though you have $2K more to pay each month.
Hypercount is a good example.
Do they pay webmasters for using the counter?
no
Do they pay webmasters for reffering new clients? no
Do they spam people? no
Do they work with their webmasters? yes
Did they grow big extremely fast? yes
Is porncity known as a company with good and long lasting public relations? yes
That was just my 2 cents, think about it http://adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/wink.gif
