Hey everyone. I'm trying to figure out how this works.

An example would be this. When you're promoting a sponser, and you get a referral code, and lets say you send a surfer to the site, and the surfer signs ups, but they get declined on the sites main processors. Well, normally they get routed to a backup processor. But how do they track the referral code to the second processor? So no matter which processor the sufer ends up signing up with, the webmaster will get credit?

Is there some kind of software available for this? I hear some sponsers don't offer backup processing credit, but if they did, how would they achieve it?

That's an excellent question and the answer is: I'm pretty sure YOU GET FUCKED!

As far as I know, there is only one major program that uses internal tracking so you get credit for the sale on the second processor.

We do back up and/or alternating processing for a number of larger programs and they do indeed pass the referrer variable into our system when the sales are generated.
