Hi all, I intend to reformat my HD and was just wondering what files do I have to backup if I intend to retain all the login information for the sites I login to with my browser, I.E all the logins to sponser programs and sites that require authentication.

Is this info stored in cookies? The last time I tried formatting I had exported all my cookies to a txt file and had imported it after the format but I lost all my logins. Any help would be much appreciated.

Oh yea, I use windows 2000 Professional.

I believe this info is stored in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

do this
start>run regedit

go to that dir, right click it and click export.. then when you need to put that info back in just import the .reg file you made

im not sure completely - but im 95% sure this will work
