As a Flash designer I am curious as to the thoughts of users here on where the future could be headed with the application in the Adult industry?

I know that the adult sites are always ahead of others and that technology is the key for some of the high end sites. So, do you think that there is much of a market for Flash on these sites and if so, suggestions on marketing to the sites themselves would be great.

Yeah flash is very widely used. Not only for as part of the initial design, but also for cartoons and games inside the members area.

Flash can even be interfaced with cgi.

I think flash will play a larger role. The file sizes are going to get smaller and given the new stuff with flash being done such as mpeg support folks are going to use it more and more.

I think I know the purpose of this thread for you, so I am game :)

What's your speciality?

Thanks for the thoughts so far! Glad to hear that there may be a future with Flash in the industry.

As for my speciality, I am a Flash designer with a lot of experience in conventinal web sites. As candidpublishinginc mentioned I have in fact done quite a bit of Flash with CGI stuff and know the application quite well. If you (or anybody) wants to continue conversation offline, please feel free to contact me at the info in my profile.

In believe that SVG will start gaining in popularity soon, which will test Flash even more.
By now, about 95% of all the surfers are capable of viewing flash movies.
And the software out there to make flash movies is also pretty user-friendly.

However, it won't take very long before people come up with visual editors for svg as well. And when that happens, svg gives you more freedom, like when you want to interact with other scripting languages. It's not really easy to create database driven flash with languages like coldfusion. Svg should be able to make this easier.
Probably because svg is a scripting language only pro's will start using this, and amateur sites will remain using flash.

Thats not true at all. I'd say adult sites are 1 year behind due to everyone trying to make their sites 100% browser compatible.
You figure with flash, think of how many new people on the internet looking for porn come across a site with flash and they dont have it installed, let alone dont know wtf flash is. So they tend to leave the site without downloading the flash plugin, therefore a sale lost.

Not to mention the ones still using modems of 56k or below who wont wait 10 mins for flash to load..

Its good if you made 2 variations to choose from but if its all you offer your going to take heavy losses..

Maybe in another 10 years when everyone has kicked modems for high end there will be a good strong market. Best thing to do now is prepair for that time and be ready to roll out something great when time comes.
