What is a fair price to take for gallery spots per 10K / day they receive?
I'm interested in hearing from people who previously sold spots or buy spots.
I do NOT wanna hear from people that say that selling spots is bullshit.
Thanks :)

place your own gallery's on the spot

estimate how much traffic it gets..
count how much earned..
divide it by half..

you can't get more fair than that :)

If you want me to test it out with one of my galleries first before I start paying for my next galleries, let me know. :) - clean teen galleries, 20 large series pics.

Well if its $3 a day and the quality was really good i might be interested.. :)

If you wana do a 1 day sale spot to test i will pay ya $3 and if its good i might think about more days and or lower spots also.

You should also offer a package price like reserve top 5 you buy spot 1 say $15-20 then each day for 5 days you move down one spot with a differ gallery then you drop off after 5. This way you could make more and charge less since you have more spots and not just sell the 2-3-4-5 by themself but rather a package deal and you would make $15-20 off each listing per day.

I know others have sold top5 indivdual spots but i dont think anyone has offered this type of deal but i think it would be easier to sell this way.

I think the most fairest amount would be for you to send 10,000 hits to any reputable sponsor, see how much you make, then add 5-10% on top of that and you have a price ;-)

dot banner, if you charge more than what a spot makes, no one will want to buy it. seems to me that you should send 10,000 hits to reputable sponsor and charge just over half of that... that way people with a comparable sponsor can still make some money.

or just be lazy - if your top spot usually makes at least one sale, charge $15 a day for top listings, $25 for a thumb at the page top.

basschick,
The reason I mentioned adding 5-10% is because that's the cost of business. It's an investment.

Just like per sign-up programs that pay you more then the sign up is actually worth, they are investing in hope that those members will stay longer for then just a month ;-)

Then again Dot Banner, the chances of maintaining that ratio are slim. Its always better to get a fixed rate from people buying the ad space than the probability of a sale sending to the sponsor. I agree with basschick's calculation, 50% is a reasonable number.

dot banner, that is not the "cost of the business". You've not included the cost of the TGP designing all the pages, managing the admin, paying the b/w, licensing the content, etc.

I wish people would either sell blind text links as the top spots.... or sell text link advertising space instead of top spots.
