$600 for 1.1 mbps line + server - he has only been doing 1.5 mbps lines, but he will probably work that out for you - he did for us. (tell him the same deal patti is getting if you email him for info)

we run galleries on his lines, and we're perfectly happy after 4 months.

Dynamichosting has some nice connectivity and their speed is on the same level als exodus and alabanza. Price is good, too: 575 for a PIII700 with 256 ECC 133 RAM and 9 GB SCSI. You can get a upgrade to 512 ECC 133 RAM for a one time fee (3-400 $).

Prohosters look good, too but they are pretty new to me and still have to prove that they can keep uptime and performance. They have came up on tnb through the help of tom (form tnb).

Maxim has the best bandwidth price for lines from 1 to 20 MBit on the web, but their ping times and put-through for instance to germany are so bad that I consider that to be unprofessional.

I guess you want to have real fast bandwidth so you might want to check out the homepages of all hosts in your final round at http://visualroute.datametrics.com/ (assuming that host host their own homepage on their own. But you´ll see that too with the URL above)

BTW: Dynamichosting could well need 2 weeks untill the server is ready (although they might have told you that it´s up the next day) but it´s worth the wait IMHO.

BUT I´m not totally sure whether Dynamichosting is for the long run although they are a good value as of now. I ordered a dedicated there, and now my tests show me that from all over the world it gets accessed over the level3 backbone while dynamichostings homepage is connected at/to their UUNet connection. I will ask them about it after I did some further tests. Speed looks good though, but there are packet losses here and there. That is typically level3 which is one of the cheaper backbone providers, but not the most reliable one, nor the fastest.
