Yes Reverse-Sms.com only works with UK people. It`s tough to get new networks setup but more will be coming later this year, it`s a slow roll out really.
But at the moment filtering your UK traffic to a sales page is proving very profitable with conversions being about 1:5 to 1:10. Filtering is simple and requires a Mysql database of Ip`s which a Fast CGI script checks each surfer that visits your site against the table of UK ip`s and forwards the Uk guy to a sales page and lets the rest of the world visit your website as normal without any redirection.
I have an ad on worldsex.com which brings in about 2k of traffic a day, filtering this traffic using the filtering script above I send about 100 British people a day to the sales page, and I get between 8-12 new signups each day with each signup differing in length of time they stay....On average people stay 10-30 days....Many have stayed longer and a few have quit less.
The filtering script is free and works with any website, ReverseSms can be setup on any members area or you could just use my Celebs-Nude members area.
It rocks as an extra income, but as a new source of income it won`t challenge dialers or credit card processing until the rest of the world is covered.

I gave some SMS calls a try and it did ok, not as good as a dialer.
Its seems most people over here (Holland) do not trust SMS anymore so conversions will be a lot lower.

Yeh exactly. UK people trust SMS`s as it`s used for nearly everything over here now, ringtones, horoscopes, TV voting, jokes, and now porn...lol
The problem in Holland is that the amount you can reverse charge is pretty low (92 EUR cents against 1.5 GBP in UK) so to get the same rev share you have to send 2 messages daily recurring which pisses people off.
I heard that paypersms developed a curtain mechanism to let people in for only a period of time for x amount of messages. More like dialer style. I could imagine that this converts way better.
I think that SMS could be an alternative for dialers to grant website access as soon as it is widely available.

Yeh that works ok too....Something like you get 14 days access and charged £1.50 per day for 14 days then you are automatically cancelled. You could also do this for 30 days which we found worked but not as well as the current setup of just allowing people to stay as long as they like. Ofcourse we have flexible setups and can allow any number of options.
Something else we are thinking on is to charge the end user a one off charge of say £10 for a weeks access.....I don`t think the networks are willing to negotiate a higher amount but £10 seems a reasonable amount to charge for a week or many 2 weeks access.
Widely available is a tough call, as widely available in Europe is possible by the Summer/Autumn but widely available in the US is another ball game all together :).

Stu,
are there any charge-backs or uncollectables involved or is payment guaranteed? Since dialers are a bit risky this would be pretty interesting to know.

Chargebacks occur, but are low due to the nature and price of the service.
Chargebacks only affect myself, if one of the guys you signup issues a chargeback, you still make the money I just take the loss.....No problem
