watch out if ya have this kazaa shit on your 'puter!
from this page http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2002/04/26/1019441306209.html
.....Hidden inside KaZaA, however, is Altnet - Trojan software that aims to
harness the spare processing, storage and communications power of the
millions of computers connected to KaZaA's FastTrack network, a concept
known as "distributed computing".
It is scheduled to be
activated by a signal
Sharman will send to users' PCs, in the next four to five weeks....

Uninstalling it = a good thing then? I did last week because it was pissing me off. heh
I don't use Kazaa or anything similar much nowadays either. I got pissed off by the poor download speeds. It took me like a week to download a 700Mb movie while I can get it within few hours over FTP. The only good thing about Kazaa is that you find stuff with it, but there's not much that needs to be found nowadays anyway. :D

Go there to remove the brillant digital trojan and you can continue to use kazaa without the trojan : http://www.wilderssecurity.com/B3DKiller.html
I hate all those spyware, fuck I am the owner of my computer and I control it, I dont want that other slow down my computer or spy me when I dont know. Same think for all auto-download and auto-execute

One of Kazaa's trojans is already active, ZoneAlarm caught it trying to access the net. It was called ZUPDATE.EXE its inside all Kazaa installs.
Probably in a folder on your C drive called bde or b3d
Check this:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run]
"b3dUpdate"="C:\\WINDOWS\\BDE\\Update\\Zupdate.EXE -silent -p \"C:\\WINDOWS\\BDE\\Update\" -s setup.cab"

If you use kazaa lite or uninstall manually the spyware you must be sure that you delete not just the cydoor spyware but also the BDE viewer from Brillant Digital, it is this one that in 1 month will use your bandwidth and cpu processing
