I plan to post thumbnail galleries from a dedicated server. Let's suppose I post a good gallery which gets listed to some very big tgps. How many GB bandwith/day can I expect?

Very simple: take the TGPs you're going to submit your galleries to, then find out how much visitors they can send. As an example, here you have some averages from my esperience: thumbzilla=1k to 8k, thehun=20 to 100k, jjj=3k to 6k. Now, get the "weight" of you page, including banners, thumbs and large images (programs like WebWeaver will give you this info) and then take your calculator and do the maths, taking the worst, medium and best scenarios. I got like 12 GB a good day with Zilla and Hun together, 15 pics 2 banners. Now, one thing: Very usually the amouint of TGP visitors doesn't reflect on signups, so watchout

All I can say is expect to use a lot of bandwidth. If you're listed on multiple high traffic tgp site, you may see up to 100k or more visitors a day.

yeah but actually it's not profitable those people who come from tgps are only clicking on the pics and maybe 5% or less is clicking on a banner

if you get posted on thehun, al4a, worldsex and snakesworld on the same day, as well as the regular tgp's, you can find yourself burning as much as 25 gig a day, or even more! i pay less than $2 a gig, but this can hurt.

i had that happen before, and i only posted 12 pics and thumbs...

my suggestion to you is this: try your gallery formats out on smaller tgp's till you find a format that gets great results - then post the biggest boys.

Hun, al4a, etc is a joke. they have the most worthless traffic possable. they gotta send 50k+ to get one trial. Plus you need to submit a members section of content to get listed....

Best results are from traffic from 100s of little guys. Probably they are working harder to get fresh traffic, plus their rules allow you to have banners on your pages etc

Shanes Right unless you know how to market a really good site with a gallery it is pointless submitting to non trade book-mark sites, they are freeloading bandwidth burners.

your best bet is to submit to tgps that trade traffic. That way you know a good majority of surfers are new or havent landed on a site they like alot.

Most times I have submitted to TGP using my own paid server, it has cost me more money than I earned. I must say this is probably because of the quality of the galleries I submitted. Recently, I did a very softcore gallery ( teen model - not even a hint of pussy ), and got:
9 signups - thehun - 100K hits ( 10 pics, hand made gallery)
0 signups - worldsex -40K hits (tgsw version of above)
3 signups - thumbzilla - 30K hits (tgsw version of above)
0 sgnups - the rest(120 TGP's) - about 50-70K hits

There are guys who do galleries full time off their own servers - it just requires a bit of knack, which I don't think I have just yet, however, the success of the last gallery makes me want to try again.
