I got one very nasty from some stupid cj that made signup at my site ..
Every time i opened ie it starts another session in background and start downloading something .. :confused:
Never knew what - i leaved it for 5 min and it consumed about 10Mb of my band
I erased all cookies , all bookmarks ,etc .. nothing happened.. in the end I had 2 delete the wonderful Win Me .. hehe
I understand that it can b removed with regedit .. but shit .. IE6 SUCKS

Should be running anti-virus with full updates... I never used to but the net is getting worse, alot of CJ sites I got to come up with Virus warnings... anyway use Opera and your safe from everything!

ndy: what has IE to do with WinXP? i personally HATE Ie 6.0 so i don´t use it. thats it.. but XP is for sure the best shit MS ever released.. its working GR8 for me.. no fucking bluescreens and shit. and as Wildzero said: get a Virus scanner and you don´t have problems!

The Chosen: i had a problem with my sound card too.. well that one was about 4 years old. i donno how old your card is but i bought a new card for a few bucks which is now working perfectly on XP.

Nope -- that was not a virus man ..
it is a bug in ie6 .. i have Nav updated in realtime and still no viruses found ..
And about that post with ie+win xp .. well since ie is integrated in win .. it sucks
I was on microsoft page and 1 day after they released it --20Mb of updates and pathches :D
I think it's a good os .. but since they boost one windows every 1/2 year i don't think that they check everything ..
My personal oppinion is that win 95 osr2 is the best .. 2 bad it doesn't work with Amd athlon processors .. :(

Been operating now for 5 days straight...i havent rebooted...nothing...not a single system failure...nothing....

had this been 98...fuck...5 days =3,000 crashes..

ive ran 50 windows at one time..all doing diffrent shit...and no crashing!

I am running windows 2000 right now... uptime is 3 week 1 day 2 hours 48 mins! (better then linux ;p) And it does everything I want to, so again what is special about XP?

What's wrong with you guys? How can you work on XP ? XP is for playing, I tried XP and was very dissapointed, the whole desktop is so different that my productivity droped to almost zero. Is is stable you say ? Really? Hmm... Win2k Pro is stable too, I hardly ever reboot. So what's the whole deal with XP , can someone explain to me why you like it so much ?

or something like that. you can turn off all the fancy start menu and still benefit from whats under the hood. and there is a lot of changes for better.

ir you suffer w9x do it today, if your w2k upgrade(possibly wait for update) your antivirus/ghost/firewall etc.. then do it tomorrow ;)

that's exactly what I'm talking about - win200 is strictly a 32 bit OS so it doesn't need to set up virtual machines like other backwards compatible operating systems do - and because of that, programs don't crash as much and it manages memory like a champ -since it doesn't need to deal with 16 bit apps
