I agree with everything that the article says. There's only so many new ideas that you can come up with until everything starts going down the tubes.
A good idea only lasts for about 5 minutes in the porn biz, and then it gets sucked up by everyone else.
No matter how much money you make now, the likeliness of you making the same amount 5 years from now is unlikely, and there's no guarantee that you'll be making any money even 2 years from now.
Personally, I'm using what I learned, and applying it to get an education. I suggest all webmasters do the same. I think that any internet business is unstable. Most of all, it's important to look at the dot com boom era, that so quickly lead to the dot bomb. The same could very well happen to the online porn biz. And a huge section of the industry is dying already...
Are you all willing to risk it all? :)

That article used some really dumb examples. Like their playboy example....playboy's online ventures were a joke from the start.
The online porn biz will continue to be a cash cow for those with wits and money.
The way I'm molding my business plan is to continue releasing new ventures while expanding current ones. It is successful, and I'm actually making more money now then I was 3 years ago.

The fact is it will be like any other industries, when people see something makes money they jump on to it
watch and see all the little bullshitters busy with spam and PPC etc. have their site die out its a fact
Just like we saw in the 800/900 industry

That's only true with simple ideas that cost little or nothing to implement.
This is not true for ideas that cost several thousand dollars. ;)

The article has a too static view of the situation and how to handle it....
True, things have changed, but we'll adopt to the changes... Those with the ability to modify their business ventures according to the changing conditions will always surive...
It's simple, it's just practical Darwinism :)

my earlier post was geared towards the general consensus, but I don't agree with your post pinhead. The adult industry has been going downwards for years now, and being creative will only get you so far. A lot of it just has to do with luck, but you can only be so lucky for so long...
I still don't believe that most will make as much six years from now, as they're making now. Just like people probably aren't making as much now as they were 6 years ago...
If you get an education, in all likeliness you'll make more and more down the road. I know that many already have an excellent education, and they're lucky. Personally I think that having a good degree in a computer field will have a lot of meaning down the road, and more webmasters should think outside of the porn industry for security.
I see so many people complaining that everyone else is ruining the industry with dialers, and tgp's etc. etc., but they have to realize it's not something they can control.
Many will be in the porn industry for the long run, but maybe you'd actually make more money with a normal 9-5er. My teacher was telling us how his brother, a programmer, walked away from a 175k year a job... not bad? :) Of course he's well experienced, but it certainly got my interest :)
