I'm looking at registering a few domains, but who is the cheapest one to go to?

Also, if I buy an existing one, what do I need to have to change the ownership into my name?

Thanks

Ok I have done it and this is the easy way.

First a cheap good fast place is gkg.net about 10 bucks a name

If you want to change ownership this is what you do first.

If the name is registered thru NETSOL dont even try changing rather submit a request to transfer the domain to gkg.net then once its done usally 2 - 4 days change it in gkg's GUI its easy and fast

Good luck

Domains410.com offers $8.95 registration. Just register 1 domain to get an account with them and then you can register for less inside the account manager. They also offer bulk discounts but you need to get an account first.

just pay 15 bucks for the good old directnic.com ;)
if you are looking for cheaper once though, try godady.com or namecheap.com

You might also want to look into registerfly.com & dotregistrar.com

foxxx: Do you have any experience with Indyadomain? I would be suspicious of any registrar offering $5/year registrations. I can't see how they would profit from charging only $5.

Just my $.02

namebargain.com
$8.88

Owned by register.com quality service, inexpensive rates, bulk tools.

Do not go for a cheap service that will not be around as you will have NO way to renew your names if they go under.

Just a thought.

I wonder how you found this domain.
No information on site, no standard features like TOS, Domain Dispute Policy, etc.
$6.80 per domain ~ $5 is / was fucking joke. They must pay $6 to the Registry, so they paid it from their own pocket?
Fake whois, lol, did I say fake? There is no info at all, domain was created in March 27 2002, registered through stargateinc which is enom reseller ...
Looks like yet another domain scam is going around ...
Do not be a cheap fuck, and spend $5, and get domain from authorized resellers ...
-*-*-
some good, and cheap as well
godaddy - good, fast, reliable but charges for ownership transfers
stargate - good, fast, reliable but they went up with prices two weeks ago, get at least 2 at once for previous price, connectivity problems this week, my 2 new domains weren´t updated properly last week
registerfly - good, fast, reliable but their customer service sucks, they put locks sometimes ... seems they are improving last 14 days
enom, opensrs - very good prices, customer support - *if* you are reselling
namecheap - I have almost forgotten .... seem everybody loves them these days <edit>
a few more - some of them as low as $6.8 when you are reselling
-*-*-
names to avoid:
netsol
onlinenic

Guys, do not recommend anything you do not use just based on price you can see on their frontpage. Domains are too valuable to spend $5 per year, and regret later.

update:
I tried to get a domain - went to payment screen:

Pay by Cheque / Cash / Bank Transfer
Bank Name HDFC Bank in any Indian Branch
Title <account #> Kartik Anand (1211000036795)
(You can pay in Indian Rupees 270/- per domain year)
Email billing@indyadomain.com after you deposit the payments along with the date and time of deposit.

Nice. Anybody wants me to send him money?

I recomend domains410.com because i have over 60 domains with them including datahosters.com and they dont take days to give me support and transfers are done same or next business day.

Plus they are well established been around and they dont resell for another system like bulkregister.

Go to MrZoom.com - www.mrzoom.com
There you can register domains for $7.95 a year
They even go as low as $7.60 if you register for more years.
They also provide a very user friendly control panel for members.
I have registered 12 domains with them and I am totally satisfied with their support, very fast.
