I was checking tgps to post to and some fucker fucked with my browser. I already removed the links and changed my home page back and updated the regedit for the search options, but I still have the following problem.

When accessing Internet options in my IE5.5 toolbar I get the following message

The operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact system adminastator.

Go ahead and d/l the public release of IE 6.0 - it's a beta, but damn stable and works really well and fast.
windowsupdate.microsoft.com

That might fix the problem. It also fixes the scolling bug that comes with IE 5.5.

The site changed the explorer policies to which lets computer administrators prevent access to certain features found in Windows, explorer and such.

You can find this setting under the:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Inte rnet Explorer\Restrictions registry key.

Simply delete the "NoBrowserOptions" value, and it should work fine.

I must however say I think this goes far beyond the standard jerking surfers around tricks. Changing the registry to prevent access to the Internet Explorer Options dialog!? Makes me wonder...
