Opt-in email question

Can somebody point me in the right direction?

I'm looking to set up an email box on some of my sites to collect the addresses of my surfers who want weekly pics or whatever. Is there a program you can recommend for this?

I'm not looking to harvest millions for spamming, I just want to gather addresses from surfers who show an interest in a specific niche...and I'm sure formmail isn't the way to go about it..lol

I'm looking for an opt-in script just to accept and confirm email addresses and maintain a mailing list - I liked the Join4Free script but it's a little more than what I need right now.

The script at cgi-spy seems to only manage a list, doesn't look like it handles email confirmations.

Any more ideas?
