Perhaps a dumb question about starting a CJ site....

Let's say I start a CJ site...but I don't have any initial traffic at all.

I know that if I start a tgp page, I can either buy traffic from a link spot in another tgp's gallery list, or push galleries linking to my tgp.

How would I get the initial traffic to start a CJ site? Most tgp pages won't list galleries from CJ sites.

Any advice would be great.

try signing up for a bunch of intial trades. than ask webmasters if they can throw about of traffic your way, and tell them it will be repayed when you have a substantial base of traffic.

most people will give you a boost to start.

U should redirect the traffic every hour for 1-2 minutes to ur cj when ur getting 5k an hour thatd be enough to start u off ?
U could try a filter program that sends all traffic from outside usa etc to ur cj.

Well im starting a cj to soon, what I am thinking about is maybe pose as a clean tgp,
that way I could still drive traffic to the site using gallery submissions and get
accepted most places.

When traffic is good, then start to blend
some trades into the mix, just enough to not
piss the leech... ehrm surfers of to much so
they stay and click some more links, find a
good balance so they keep clicking for the real galleries.

idea, you will get caught sooner or later
and then that traffic source is dead.

Well...I'm only a few steps from my first CJ myself. So, I'm right there w/ ya...BUT I would suggest finding a few TGPs that allow blind links & make some galleries (ie; Thumbnailpost.com((who brings a TON of traffic)), etc.). Like I said, it's gonna be happenin' soon for me, but from what I understand blinds from a TGP bring fresh traffic...and that's a good thing. I could be wrong (?) so don't take my word for it. Just a suggestion. Or make maybe make some TGP galleries w/ a informative link @ the bottom & direct to your CJ. But, I don't know shit....just how I would start. How bout making a recip button / text link next to the real tgp's recips and link it to ur cj.
How bout blind thumbnails ? i know most reviewers only click 2 thumbs max so u got a good chance of getting listed.

Yeah...but if you submit galleries on a regular basis you gotta be VERY careful doing the blind thumbs. I, personally, would not take that chance! I have also heard that TGP buttons make a VERY little dent in traffic. That's just what I heard...so who knows....

Recip buttons get about 0.03% .
A new email adress is not hard to get of course ud use a different one then ur main gallery email adress.

Well I run a tgp myself, and I can tell you
that recip 'buttons' are almost useless, I
got maybe 100 clicks on my recip button out of 40-60K - now i use a text link, non deceptive,
something like:

"Finished? - visit my site for more porn!"

I always place it at the bottom, right after
the end of the thumbs table, works very nice,
maybe because the surfer always ends up there
after hitting the thumbs...

Dont say something that isnt true like "more galleries", you wont get posted, many
reviewers will skip a gallery with those
kind of links without even checking if its
true or not - after having clicked a couple
of hundred of those links and getting hit

As for blind thumbs, I wont go there, one day

TGP and surfing on AWI..better try to find some honest way.
Anyway TGP blocked CJ from last spring i guess...The main problem is the popups that reg CJ has.If you will try CJ2 site i think u will get more luck with TGP submits.

i guess the only reason that surfers know that they are going to the site...not some pic...or gallery...like most cj traff think...thats why its "fresh"...

You should be able to start a CJ/CJ2/TGP with a small amount of fresh traffic daily. I would say 2k/day of steady traffic. Use free hosts and make CLEAN gallery pages, just use LARGE text links that say "CLICK HERE TO ENTER MY SITE", "MORE WET PUSSY AT YOURSITE.COM" etc. Maybe trhow a banner on top of the page, because a page with no advertising looks like it is going to be re-directed. This should bring in a decent amount of TGP surfers. If you have that, and a site layout that generates outclicks, you should be on your way. Just start adding trades and moving traffic around. That 2k should become 10k+ in a week. This is if you have no other existing sites.
Just don't fuck around with blind thumbs - not only do reveiwers check thumbs, they normally view the page source - and that is why blacklists are 50 miles long.
WC Staff - if you contact TGPs that sell slots, and explain that you wish to generate traffic to your CJ, perhaps they will work with you and find a solution that satifies both parties.
