Cute FTP problems

Howdy, I am using CuteFTP and all of a sudden I can't access anything with it..
I am connected via an internet gateway on another computer on the network..
worked fine until today when all of a sudden it can't connect out..
I can SSH and all that fun stuff but no FTP..
anyone else experience this?

Same sort of thing happened to me... I just did an uninstall and a re-install and it started working again :)

But FTP through DOS works much better....

Have you tried to use basic ftp commands in a shell?
and if the result was negative, your tcp/ip protocol is fucked.

anyway another way to test it is just install another grahpic interface client program(but that would ruin the fun :D)

or it could just be something in your exterior surrunding, firewall, proxy, gateways etc

switch to WS_FTP and not have anymore problems ;)

WS_FTP gives me always a lot of problem (I use the free version: LE), but it's a good idea to try another one,so if your problem still exist,the problems are not from Cute...
Best way is to use the DOS ftp

CuteFTP has always been my favorite..
actuallly to be more precise cuteFTP 3.0 was my favorite..
the best version out there by far..
and I have bought Cute, so I would rather use something I have paid for..
just wish I could get a copy of 3.0..
yea, I can ftp through the command prompt so I will uninstall it and try again.

Just re-installed and it didn't do a bloody thing..
wrote the tech support people seeing as I paid for the damn thing they better be able to fix it..
might have to switch to ws..
will see if that works..

Warning to all, if you are using a gateway stay away from cute :)

I had this problem many times too, at the first time I was sure that something was happen to the server.. then I found out that the server is allright and that the problem is with CuteFTP :o

I finally dug up CuteFTP 3.0 , rebooted, re-installed, yadayadayada, and now it works fine.
and omg did I ever miss 3.0 ..
ever single operation is twice as fast..
why do software companies always have to screw up such good things?:confused: :confused:

CuteFTP is my favorite as well.. I've used it so often and so long that I wouldn't even consider anything else unless it was personally demonstrated in my house by a nude Salma Hayek sitting on my lap.

Have you made any changes to your permissions or installed Bastille linux? I had similar problems when I tightened the security on my server.
