Dan S - thanx for the heads-up, but i don't feel comfortable having to spend money before i even view the auction listings. you can't see them till you buy credits :-( and then what if there was nothing you wanted.

I'd say it's anywhere between 500-2000
depending on who...
I've bought, (and will continue to buy) traffic from gregpix.. $200 for two weeks in the top 11 or so listings.. the cool thing is you can have the traffic sent to a SITE as opposed to just a gallery like some TGP owner's (pay to post the content I'm giving you for FREE? Nigga Please...)
Anyway, for me it's been generating between 4000-5000/day which if you do the math is about, $0.0029 - $0.0036 per hit.. VERY easy to make back the investment... I filter this traffic through my CJII sites and it quite productive, not to mention lucrative...
Just my experience..

RFLMAO...Rich..."Nigga Please". That's some good shit! http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif Funny, man....I like it!
How much traffic in general do you get to from doing this?
Are the conversions any good? I hate posting galleries.... but sometimes they do good http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif

it's depends on where you buy. I buy from the hun and typically get 40K to 80K hits depending on the gallery. If you have a gallery that converts then you can easily make a nice profit.
I hate posting too and would rather pay. The extra traffic from being at the top usually covers the cost, plus you don't have to worry about the reviewer rejecting you http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Last year I got one of my gallery listed Hun's #1 spot and I made shit load of money from that gallery. Even better, it was hosted on Porncity so it's all profit (beside content cost).
Jerry W, do you mind sharing Hun's rate in here ?
I've checked the Huns rate. I think he said $400 through the 3 days. Not sure what position exactly. Then you'll be archived.
How much traffic do you normally get total for those 3 days? Is there usually a long wait to get your gallery posted?
Actually that might be one hell of a deal.
I don't have the patience to do them by hand... and after about 10 posts it drives me nuts.
Jerry_W

Email parney@cybercatinc.com for the hun's rate sheets, she handles advertising for the hun.
depending on the gallery and the description the hun gives you can get 40K-80K hits or more.

Just a short reminder for everyone interested in buying gallery placements.
http://www.webmasterbid.com
has open auctions for some pretty nice gallery listings.
The system is working now (Anthony just told me).
Some of the items are as cheap as $2 right now, cause the system just started working.
You might be able to get some nice and decent traffic for a bargain..... http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif
I have currently 2 items up myself
Teen Softcore Gallery (very top of the page)
http://www.webmasterbid.com/show.cgi?item=4
according to ucj the gallery link got clicked 12568 times in last 24 hrs
Teen Hardcore Gallery (very top of the page)
http://www.webmasterbid.com/show.cgi?item=10
according to ucj 9636 clicks to that gallery last 24 hrs.
I am really fascinated by this idea. And would love to see more items and bidding people there.
You just have to use it http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif
I whish Anthony good luck with this new way to generate new money for all of us ...

robert - it would depend on the site and the link placement. that is probably the neighborhood unless it was a niche tgp sending to my niche - then a little more, i think.
dan s - i think the idea of buying the tokens in advance may keep his site from growing. i know it's the only thing that is keeping me from bidding. if people want to be sure to be paid, they could simply accept paypal. it's gonna be interesting to see how many more adultwebmaster auctions open up!
Robert
01-12-2001, 10:31 AM
basschick - it would be at www.smashingthumbs.com (http://www.smashingthumbs.com) and it would be first spot in each category (top left corner). And probably with a small picture ("GOLD") next to gallery description to improve surfers interest http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/smile.gif

yeah, you are right.

dan s - paypal is almost instant, and it's secure. also anyone that takes online cc or checks is kewl.
or how about if we bought the tokens at the time we won the auction? it would only take a brief time - otherwise the number 2 bidder could get the item instead.
or why tokens? why not just pay using a credit card online through the auction place if you win the auction? simple, quick, painless...
Dan S
01-13-2001, 10:23 AM
hellfire,
unfortunately I am not accepting free host submissions.
basschick,
yeah, but what will happen if someone is winning the auction, but his CC is bad, or the wm doesn`t have the funds to cover the bid.
the everyone, the selling webmaster, the bidding and losing webmasters get screwed...

robert - what niches do well on smashing thumbs? i'm interested...
dan s - just like every other auction (ebay certainly comes to mind) if the winner of the auction flakes, just give the auction to the second person. it works for every online auction i've ever seen. and start a feedback section so you can tell who has been good to deal with.

In regards to the question about why webmasterbid.com uses credits and not a typical "ebay" auction type:
The main goal of Webmaster Bid is not only to connect webmasters and sellers of traffic but also to do this in the most efficient way (efficiency defined as both buyer and seller doing as little has humanly possible to make their money). The types of payment options in an online auction need to be tapered to the kinds of products and services being sold. On an auction like ebay, where people are selling a relatively small amount of tangible items that aren't time intensive, allowing the seller and the buyer to deal with their own exchange of money works fine. This isn't the case when it comes to traffic spots.
Ideally, we would like each TGP to be able to sell four or five spots on their site daily. For a seller, it would be much harder to keep track of all these buyers payments, let alone if the buyer couldn't pay and it had to go to the next buyer. Also, there would be a delay in the time that the item expired to when the payment went through, and when the link was actually posted on the site. It doesn't matter if you get your beanie baby a week later, but for a traffic spot, you want it now! So instead of all this mess, all the seller has to do is post his/her items, and at the time of the bid expiring, add a link. There are reasons for using a credit system from a buyers perspective as well. The number one reason is security. There is no way to know if the seller will actually post your link, and if they don't, there would be nothing you could do. Also, as mentioned before, buyers don't want to wait a day for the link to be posted, after their paypal.com payment goes through. I deal with paypal a lot, and in many cases, webmasters credit cards have to be approved first, so it takes a few days.
Feedback from the buyers and sellers is excellent and we have a full board on WB for that. Everyone can post their concerns, questions, even that a deal didn't go as they planned. This is productive but we don't want this to be the sole way for buyers and sellers to know who is legitimate and who isn't. In our opinions, that would be a mistake. Instead we have a whole platform, kind of like "big brother" where we monitor all the transactions to make sure you get exactly what you planned!
The system needs to be fast and secure. Leaving it up to the users to arrange payment doesn't accomplish either. What we have done at WB is to create an environment where both seller and buyer can trade quickly and safely. If you are a seller, you know you will get payment. If you are a buyer, you know you will get your traffic or you don't have to pay. All of this happens instantly which means less work and more money!
I would like to say just a few more things about our system.
1. If you are a buyer right now, you can get some great deals on link spots. Since everything is so new, you can get spots on TGPs with 100k/day for less then $5! If I were you I would take advantage of these cheap spots while they are still around. Also we have a deal where if you purchase 1 credit, we match it! So that means if you put in 10 bucks, you actually get 20 credits in spending. That is coming out of our pockets right now =)
2. If you are a seller, I urge you to give us a try. We are growing every day and the quicker we get this system main stream, the faster you guys will be making money! Imagine if you have five spots going for $20 everyday for doing no more work then you are now!
Thanks for your time,
WB Team

all of what you say is true enough, but i don't want to pay for something that i very well may not get to buy.
i have to use a credit card to buy tokens, and then when your site grows, it would be very likely to have to buy several hundred dollars worth of tokens and then lose the auction. then my money is tied up in auction tokens, which sucks very much, so i am obligated to use the tokens, even if there is nothing else there i want to buy.

Hello Basschick
There is something I forgot to tell you yestereday.
Email subject: teen spot
include your URL and DESCRIPTION.
thanks Robert
basschick
01-15-2001, 05:00 AM
does the spot have to have the same gallery description for the whole month?
Robert

I can change it every day. So you can send as many descriptions as you want and I will rotate them. Right?

BassChick has a point, just an idea it would be good if you teamed up with a content provider or something which we could use unused credits for if we do not get placings we bid for, maybe even get them to offer a discount on content http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/cool.gif to webmasterbid.com users if they use tokens to purchase, I am not sure how practical this is just an idea anyway
Am I doing something wrong... I only see one thing up for bid?
I really think this is a very good concept... but the process seems confussing.
Dan S
01-15-2001, 08:12 AM
Yeah, all the other items timed out and nobody was bidding... http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/ubb/frown.gif
Well, I will get some new items up now
I would be gladly bidding but I have one major problem.. I don't have a damn credit card :P.
Please, add some alternative methods for paying without credit card, if there is any which wouldn't be causing too much work for owners of that site.
webmasterbid

That's a good point BassChick. The issue is purchasing tokens and not winning item; having money "tied" up.
Firstly, there is a difference between someone who submits regularly to TGPs and someone who submits infrequently. Many webmasters make their livings off of submitting. Although we would like to help everyone make more money, Webmaster Bid caters to these frequent submitting webmasters. We have be running for just over a week now with great success but there aren't that many items to bid on yet. In time we hope to have hundreds of new items posted daily for submitters to bid on. Because of this, we think it will be very hard to find something else to bid on that will give you a great return on your hard earned money. In time we are going to prove to you that by committing your dollars to credits will not be "tying" them up but instead it will be bring you more back, in less time!
Good idea Juggler. Hopefully as WB grows we can form deals with content providers, hosts, programmers, etc, all with one goal in mind: to make all our webmasters more money in less time!
Notes:
- we welcome questions. So if you feel confused with the system, please just talk with one of us via ICQ/email and we will steer you through it painlessly.
- in just one week we already have 50 webmasters/bidders and 30 sellers/posters! I urge you all to check it out.
Thanks again everyone!
