I use Prohosters.com. $2 a gig, $2.5 over tier. Unlimited domains & disk space. AWESOME customer service.

the big question, blade69, is how much transfer are you looking to do, and are you looking for virtual or dedicated...

if you need a fair amount (300 gig or over a month), i know where you can get a 1.5 mbps line for just over $600. otherwise, i bet prohosters will work just fine.

Prohosters are ok - but i can't recommend using their virtual-hosting-plan if you plan on running a cj-site - it's simply too slow.

Use a semi-dedicated server as a startup and buy a dedicated server when the first paycheck arrive ;-).

I would suggest checking out candidhosting.com I have 15 sites with them & never have any any issues with them. Its the only company that I have used & can get a technical response in less than 15 minutes at 3 in the morning. They are on a 2.50 per gig deal & less if you are bw hog...

Its my first day with 4webspace.com on a ded. server and it runs very smooth.
Now i dont have a high traffic site and i dont know how many gigs your are looking for but their raq3 server comes with 100 gigs monthly for only 100 bucks.
Additional BW is 3 p/g
Good customer support.

I'm getting a box next month with 4webspace but I'm going to transfer one of my non adult sites to it.

I have spoken to a few people who have one and they say its a good deal.

If you have high traffic sites I don't know if that RAQ can handle it.

i went to 4webspace.com and all i saw was that each server has 32 mg of ram that you need to pay to upgrade, and 100 gig of transfer a month.

in their terms, it says that they then charge $3 a gig after that first 100 gig, which is not bad but not a deal.

am i missing something it might be handy to know?

I've been looking for hosting too and this seems a good deal...

SimpleHosting.com offer 200 gigs for 500 bucks; 2.50 per gig. But I found their page from the WebOverdrive webmaster resources site and if you write Top Niche in the comments box when sign up for a plan you get a 25% discount for as long as you maintain the account, so that 500 bucks just became 375 or 1.875 per gig. Not bad.

Adult Central offers a 1mb/s line at 289.99 per month. I've never paid for hosting that way, always 'per gig' so I'm not sure whether it is a good deal or not.

i could be way off here, but i think a 1.1 mbps line is about 330 gig (maybe you can squeeze a little more out of it).

we have been paying $450 for ours, which has been very nice.

shovel - what happens if you go over 200 gig with your simplehosting account? do they charge you per gig or bump you up one account? i went to look , but i couldn't find a deal anywhere near the one you have.

as far as adultcentral, i see that you can virtually host and get that deal - and it IS a deal! but i think you may be sharing that line, which makes it NOT a deal. i'll email and ask.

$5 per gig or more overage charges are very bad. Eat up anyone budget period. I have been hosting with www.svwh.net (http://www.svwh.net) damm good service fast as hell. for $60 a month and no set-up 25 gigs. Which is perfect for galleries.

i heard back from adultcentral - that $289.99 for a 1mbps line is dedicated bandwidth on a shared server.

i have written them to ask how long it takes them to move sites that slow down the shared servers. will let you all know

mukoh - my galleries eat up that whole 25 gig in 2 days. what do you do for the other 28? ;-)

Basschick, I read some place that RAQs aren't able to handle high traffic sites like CJ sites and such.

I don't know if that is true... but I have seen it on several bbs boards about hosting.

I have a low trafic non adult site on a friend's RAQ.... and its pretty good. But the site only gets a few hundred visitors daily.

But the customer support is great..and I think that is what I am paying for..
Uptime/speed and cust support are the absolute most important for me..

These guys will work with you! They are very very fair. The tech support is good and they are timely in getting back to you in a short length of time. I am running a good bit of bandwidth and I have never had a problem. Just be honest with them when you contact them and tell how much you are doing now. That way they can plan ahead on what sever to put you on. I always talk to Paul. He is a great guy (: You can reach him at

Paying 7 bux a gig just because of great support? With my svwh.net i used to go through 100k unique a day. And they always answer e-mails and help so much, that xxxwebhosting looks like a joke next to them.

I had replies from xxxwebhosting when i was with then with things like if you want to know how to do htaccess go to yahoo and read the faq's we don't have time to help you.

So i mean svwh.net and their prices and support have been rocking for me, i am adding 4-5 domains a month with them.
