Its time for me to have a dedicated server and it looks like rackshack is cheapest right now. I want the space and bandwidth for my porn sites..... but a good way for me to recoup my monthly expense i was going to put my clients sites ( i build other sites ) on the server and charge them per month.. so in a nutshell be a small hosting supplier.

My question is I heard Rackshack sucks if you dont know sysadmin. I was am going to pay someone to set my server up for me at first but I need to know this, Rackshack offers Plain Red Hat 7.2 , Plesk, or Ensim.

I know NOTHING about Apache or the above server systems. I do know Red Hat is suppost to be good.

If I pay someone to set it up for me, which system will be the best for me (not knowing shit) to keep up and add new domain and client in the future. I do want to learn and I am not afraid to learn, i just want something that will be best to learn on. I know there should be many resources on Red Hat, but what about Ensim and Plesk... seems that Rackshack whats to push on me Ensim but I think it is b/c they have so many in stock compared to Red Hat and Plesk.

Thanks

Wilbo

If you know nothing then get Enism. You will be able to set up your own sites and your customer sites with no problem. Enism is just dificult , IMHO, when you already know how to admin a server, then have to do it with Enism. If I were a complete newbie I would get an enism server and do it all myself. Plus Rackshack has a great forum of users that probably already has a step by step how-to of just about anything you need to do.
