i didnt wont to respond to the other posts, to deep to scroll down. lol but anyways, if anyone else noticed, these happen to people with large amounts of money being sent or recieved. but for example, when being paid a couple of hundreds, and it adds up to over a k or so, they wont do nothing, being the payments are not $5k, i would be suspicious to. wouldn't you? compared to someone sending $400, you wouldn't mind them, would anyone consider sending smaller amount but like 400 every 5 mins, i think that would be suspicious to, but thats just my 2 cents. peace.

Well my take is that these people are not well established account holders and companies like paypal do have rating systems for their users. You do have to understand if you scam them and since their processing fees are so low it talkes alot to recover the losses.

I have used paypal for years and never had any issues with them. Howerver i would not open an account and send $5k to anyone the first day even if i had no choice. They are not really a bank and in such cases i would use wire to protect both parties.

Even though i have no problems to date if i have over $200 i always withdraw or spend the remaining portion for my own saftey.

You guys dont have them just put it into your bank account?? When I get money sent to paypal, it goes right into my hometown bank account. When I need to send money, it comes right out of my bank account. No need for them to keep any money. Last I checked though they did have a pretty good intrest rate compared to a money market account. I was actually thinking of putting a couple 1000 into it, but probably not anymore.

I've never had issue sending or recieving any amount of money...large or small. As long as you've got the cash or the credit to back it up, you should be fine. It's when you don't that shit happens.

Also too...the core service is still free right? If you, go get what you pay for. Try upgrading to the Small Business or Premier service.

paypal seems the perfect way to transfer dirty money between people. I am sure they have some governmental guidelines they must operate within.

Banks and other financial institutions have to report suspicious or transfers over a certain dollar amount, I'm sure paypal would have to operate along similar guidlines and be obliged to do likewise.
